Impressive

I ordered this turntable as it seemed to meet my requirments for converting my vinyl to MP3 format. Now I have played some of my rather old LP's on it I don't think I will bother. The sound reproduction from the Soundlab is simply sensational, I think I was about 27 (A long time ago BTW) when I last heard music with such depth and clarity. Yes, pay more and you will get better but for £94 inc post and packing (£82 excluding), I don't think you will get much better. It comes with Audacity software which I am familiar with but I probably wont use it now as the uncompressed sound of vinyl can't be beaten. The unit is quality and matches well with the rest of my Hifi equipment and try as I might I just can't fault the turntable. So it is a positive 5 stars from me.Oh, and just to make things even better, the turnable was delivered 36 hours exactly after I ordered it so top marks to the seller.

Good product, but user instructions could be improved

As to the quality of this product, I can generally second the review of "Dexy". The sound produced by this turntable is very good in my environment - currently I am playing it through my Home Theatre system, interfacing via the line output of the turntable. It is certainly a very cost-effective solution for playing my vinyls, which in my view sound much better this way than in digitised form.My only complaint is the user guide, which was less than clear. A particularly annoying point is that the the instructions for setting the stylus weight do not indicate or reference the stylus weight to be used. However if you look in the specification, the pressure range is indicated as 3-4g, so I set it at 3g, which seems to work OK. The other points were more minor: I would have expected the list of contents of the box to include a diagram of the contents (as with Ikea flat pack furniture) - there might be people who don't know what a "45 rpm adaptor" looks like. The instruction about attaching the belt to the motor spindle is not in the assembly instructions but appears as a note under the delivery list. In fact, at first I wondered if the belt was missing - but it turned out to be partly hidden by sellotape and a marking ribbon - again something which could have been clarified in a short sentence. Manufacturers need to remember that this retro technolgy has features which older people may have forgotten and younger people have never encountered, so good user manuals are especially important.This gripe apart, as I said, the product is excellent, so this shouldn't put anyone off, but serve as helpful hints.

Push along dog

Lovely toy- our dog is seriously confused! Hugely loveable. Soft huggable and strong, with firm wooden wheels and frame. Quite heavy and time will tell whether this is a good thing so that the baby won't pull it over, or a bad thing in that it may be a bit heavy to push when just beginning to walk. Awaiting the walking stage before I can tell.

As good as I hoped

The quality of this toy is first class. The fur is plush and soft, the wood is sturdy, well finished and the joints are solid. It is a really good size - as evidenced by the initial amorous advances of our two (confused) male fox terriers.It is a great looking dog but not a great looking terrier - the head is too fat and although the wide body makes a great seat, it is rather wide. The wheels are wooden and, as it is a traditional toy, there are the simplest of axles so the dog has a tendency to slightly wander off its initial trajectory when pushed along.I bought this for my daughter's first Christmas when she was 4 months old and, even though she could not push it until she was 10 months, I am delighted with it and cannot recommend this (UK made) toy highly enough.

Incredible value, vintage sound

Solid, reliable, well built amp for a really remarkable price. I've used mine regularly for gigs and church worship for 2 years, without the slightest problem. The sound tends strongly towards the warm and vintage rather than the crisp and clinical, a bit like an Ampeg B15 with more definition and top-end bite. Very loud, too, for the power rating. There is an effective pad switch for active basses, but I find the amp sounds altogether better with a passive bass, as I guess you'd expect from my comments above. The BX1800 just sings with a good P-Bass!

Amplified specification

I have bought a couple of Behringer amps before for keyboard and acoustic guitar. Despite a few reviews that have questioned their reliability, I have to say they have, so far at least, provided a good, rugged performance.This amp is a decent, if basic, bass amp that certainly does the job for about a third of the price of some of its competitors. As an occasional amateur user, I am less concerned about having state of the art, big name gear. I really just want something I can afford that works and this fits the bill.The one word of caution about Behringer amps though is their power rating. Although classed as 180 watts, I can't believe this is an RMS rating. I suspect it is more like a peak power rating as the sound output is probably a bit less that a Fender 100 watt lead amp I also own. The specification does not state the measurement used. Given, however, that I am using their amps alongside other 100 watt RMS equipment with a feed to the PA mixer desk, this is not a major issue for me. Indeed I could have bought the next model up with a Behringer rating of 300 watts for a few tens of pounds extra if I had been really concerned.I do wonder though why Behringer seem to be inflating the rating somewhat. Perhaps they just felt that, while amplifying the sound, they could amplify the spec as well.Still good value nonetheless, as the price is very reasonable even with that caveat.

Very useful product

This is a good product. I'm not going to go overboard in saying just how good because the truth of the matter is that I've not got anything to compare it to. I've built webpages using just plain old notepad for a few years now and never really understood the need for html editors. However, as I started spending more time coding I thought it time to investigate these tools.Dreamweaver has been the lead editor for many years and as I've never used it I can't say if Expression is better. However, this is far far from the old front page. What I can say is that it has made life so much easier. You can set the screen so that you can see the source code and the resulting web page at the same time. You can change the code on either screen and it automatically changes the other. Each code element is in a different colour and as such makes it easier to find elements.Interaction with the CSS file is done in a similiar way. There are prompts galore and lots of useful tips, especially the one that ensures you deliver 100% compliant code everytime.Bottom line - if you're still using Notepad, buy this today, it will make your coding life much better.My first project using this tool was www.freepspwallpapers.co.uk

Excellent work by Microsoft - Really!

I don't understand why Expression Web has grown in popularity. Microsoft really have come up trumps for once. Its a small install, way smaller than Dreamweaver, intuaitive and incredibly effective. Its also massivley cheaper than Adobes baby.I have used Dreamweaver for sometime and it now seems to have gone the way of most Microsoft offerings. Its bloated, too complicated and annoyingly produces messy propriety code.Expression Web just churns out fully XHTML compliant code and doesn't even add anything in the meta data to say its produced it. It links well with ASP pages and has enough .net snippets in there for those who want the power of asp pages but don't want to learn and has good design attributes. It also integrates nicely with Visual Studio.Where it really shines though is the CSS creator. Its just so powerful and easy to use. Click on an item and open the css modifier and all the avaiable properties and attributes are there for you to play with. It will then neatly add them all into an external style sheet in full css 2 complaint code. This is a trick that Dreamweaver has been struggling with for a while now.There are a couple of downsides though. The main one being that if your intersted in PHP, Perl or any of the other major non-Microsoft activei scripting languages you're out of luck. If you do a lot of work in these then take the Dreamweaver route. Also perversely the main work area uses a different rendering engine to IE so you'll to preview it outside of the main program.Other than that, if pure XHTML with ASP and fanatstic CSS support is all you need then by this. Its streets ahead of Dremweaver in these areas...

Does a Great Job

First of all it installed easily and worked first time, unlike another well known web site tool which I had major traumas trying to install (on Windows Vista).Have built a couple of web sites now and am very pleased with the tool. Once you get it set up and used to how it works, you can be quite productive - it has all the features I have needed so far, and they all seem to work well. Building, updating and publishing web sites all works smoothly.It came with a free video tutorial which I watched and which definitely helped get started. The only slight frustration was that this did not include the lesson about building sites using CSS Layouts, which is now the "recommended" way to do it - so it was slightly frustrating that this key piece was missing. But, this was a taster of the fuller (non Microsoft) video tutorial which you have to pay for, so you can't really blame them for holding back on some good stuff.

Canny welder like!

Welder is great, I reckon it would weld anything from tin to 20mm steel. Lightweight and small enough to be very portable. The only drwaback is the leads supplied are a bit short, but at this price it really is brilliant!

Yes! - It works.

I purchased this welder a long time before I tried it.It was with trepidation that I connected it, & started my first weld.If it didn't work, I was in trouble, having had it so long. (I needed to wire up a 32A circuit, it is not just a matter of plugging it into a 13A mains socket).Having never welded before, it was something of a black art to me.However all is well:I works flawlessly, & I am learning how to weld.The leads are not too long; - This is true, but this is not a problem.The supplied welding mask is unusable; buy an auto-dimming one at the same time.I will not deduct points for the mask as it was a "free" extra.

Some powerful machine!

Bought this amp a few weeks ago and have not had time to use it properly as it is so powerful. Intended it to be used as a practice amp but we have a small apartment and even on setting 1 my wife nearly had a heart attack! It's beautifully made, quite retro in appearance and the controls are easy to understand. Some of the effects are amazing. I think this is a small gig amp and ceratinly not for home use unless you have a sound proof garage. Excellent and really happy with it though. Will work as amp for accoustic or electric guitars.

Well worth the money

The sound that comes out of this amp is brilliant. Considering what I paid for it. Ive played on a marshall acoustic amp that costs over £400 and i cant tell the difference between that and this £170 behringer. I play the ukulele and guitar. And they both sound crisp and clear.And it's perfect for pub gigs and festivals. Recommend this product to anyone wanting to buy an acoustic amp.

Brilliant Product

I bought this after careful research, I was thinking of getting the 180 watt model but the reviews put me off. Very pleased with it. I use it mainly at home with 6 and 12 string acoustic guitars but have also used it with my Yamaha keyboard which also sounds good. Really good value when compared with competitors like Artec and other more expensive brands.

Absolute Quality

Ok, so I haven't actually sliced anything with it yet, but Christmas is only days away and it'll get plenty of use, trust me. I'm leaving the feedback for two reasons. 1) The quality. I love my knives and one can tell when a knife feels right; this does. 2) I was specifically looking for a meat slicer and this was significantly cheaper than other places; so well done to the seller, and I'll just add to that a comment about service... it arrived in good time! So all round, very happy.
