Very Happy with these Bins.

Had a pair of £40 Barska binoculars (which are pants) and wanted to upgrade to something decent. In my research this came highly recommended and this older style of prism gives you FAR more bang for your buck in lens quality than the roof prism which is more expensive to produce. Arrived today and I am delighted with the clarity and speed of focus. I am no expert but these do appear to live up to the strong reviews given by far more experienced users than me on binocular or birding sites. These are a good price on Amazon compared to other sites. If you want the 10x42, other sites are cheaper than Amazon at the time of writing.P.S worked well with glasses.

The quality of the optics on these binos is just phenomenal, they make significantly more expensive roof prisms ( even from opticron's own range)seem like cheap toys such is the pristine sharpness of the image. A revelation.

I have just sold my Leica unltravids which are alpha class binoculars and were fantastic. I wanted something much cheaper but nearly as good....and I have done it. The opticron hr wps are probably 95% as good as the Leicas which is amazing as they cost so much less.They remind very much of some Nikon 8x32 se that I used to own, the clarity and view are very similar, in fact I would find its hard to split them. If you dont want to fork out a small fortune for a good pair of binoculars, but want as view just about as good as it gets the Opticron HR WP 8x42 will fit the bill perfectly.
