Kaiser Reprostander RS 2 XA 5411 Copy Stand

This is one of the smaller Copystands in Kaiser's range. But even saying this it takes up a reasonable amount of space on the desktop, and it's also quite heavy for it's size; (The equipment is of German design and manufacture) but this adds up to it being quite steady and stable in use, especially when holding some of the heavier equipment.I would recommend especially if you intended to use one at home that you would need to find somewhere for it first, because of its size.I use mine not only for Copying but also for some Macro Shots, as for this purpose it's sometimes easier to use a Copystand than a Tripod; especially at larger Macro magnifications; in the same way as with a Microscope its easier to move the Subject (Object) a millimeter or so than it is to move all the Equipment (i.e. the Heavy Tripod, SLR, Macro Lens and perhaps a Ring Flash a small distance); I have also found the Cranked Handle that moves the Copystand Head Up and Down makes it quite easy to achieve the correct working distance/focus (with the shallower depths of focus that are present at higher magnifications).I suppose you could also do this in a similar way with an object like a Vase or Potted Plant on a desktop and then sliding it left/right and backwards/forwards; to correctly frame and focus the shot, (Sometimes I find this technique useful when using a Tripod instead.)I find my Kaiser Reprostander to be useful not only with a Digital SLR but with a smaller Compact Camera also.The only problem was at first the Copystand Head appeared to be out of line with the Baseboard, this is because there is a small amount of play from side to side with the U shaped bracket that holds and allows the Camera to be moved out above the Baseboard; but when this free play was taken out by tightening it in the correct position, then the problem soon disappeared.I have found the Kaiser Reprostander RS 2 XA to be a very good Photo Copystand that can be used for a number of different purposes.I am very pleased with mine, and I think probably like me (for Macro and Copying Work) you would use it so much, that you would wonder how you managed before without it.
