magic boots

i love these boots i own 2 new pairs 14 holes black and cherry red ,the red ones are a bit softer and more comfortable,ive owned 10 or more pairs in my life and these new pairs made in thailand are the most perfect i have ever owned,the original dubbin and polish are good too ,put some dubbin on the new pairs to break them in nicelybuy two pairs they are like works of art, never put them to dry near the heater ,let them dry naturally,they have a good resale price on ebay keep the box,if you are a half size ,size down ,the 10 and 14 hole ones are stronger and recomended by me,easy to clean nice to buff up shiney ,1st class stuff ,very comfortable and ultra long lasting,

Please ignore the other reviewer, he clearly doesn't get the purpose of reviewing the product. buying the wrong size doesn't mean the boots are only worth 2 stars, it just means this guy doesnt know what size feet he has!! these are beautiful boots and worth every penny. take it from me you cant go wrong with a pair of DM's!

Not the same quality as before

I started shopping for new boots since the docs I've had since 2002 finally started cracking over the toe area. Naturally, I went straight back to my local Doc Martens dealer and couldn't believe how shoddy the new line is compared to my old school pair. The leather upper is way thinner and feels really synthetic and of poor quality. For the price I'd expect much more. These were made on the cheap in Asia.They have a 'Vintage' line which are still made in England. I asked to inspect these too and found that they're made with much thicker, coarser leather - more like squaddie boots than my old pair, which have a harder veneer yet are more supple.This wasn't what I was after either (especially with the £200+ price tag!).In the end, after doing my homework I found a pair of British made boots of similar quality for cheaper. I won't mention the brand as this will create the impression that I'm some sort of pusher for this company. All I want to convey is that Docs aren't what they used to be and are now more for fashion conscious kids who would be happy enough to wear them for only as long as the trend lasts.
