A good buy

This socket extension was rather better than I'd expected. When ordering, I had at first thought it slightly expensive. However, on opening the box I formed an immediate value judgement. This was rather more MK/Volex quality than Poundland quality. Well made and an extremely well thought out design. A nice touch was that there a couple of spare screw covers just in case, years down the line, you might need to remove or loosen it temporarily and then perhaps accidentally lose the ones you've used. Nice touch. It had also been slightly under described. It was sold as a two gang to three gang converter. Actually, it can be used as a one gang to three gang equally well. The extension has a very simple back plate which doesn't really intrude into the back box which leaves loads of room for wiring it up. As a result it took less than 3 minutes to fit. I will be getting more of these.

Pictured item is not what I received

I currently have a few of the one-into-two socket version of the item pictured.I specifically looked for a three-into-two version of the same thing so all the sockets in my living room matched, unfortunately I did not receive the item picture, but one with long, straight switches that have a very definite on/off click action.. not the soft rocking of those pictured.Other than that, the item works perfectly and the longer screws that came with the socket are a bonus as the back box on my wall is set rather deep.

From the one picture, this item looks as though it is flush fitting which is what I assumed. Actually it projects at least 2 cm so not good visually.
