Crushed Blossoms After a Rainfall...Gorgeous Classic Fragrance!

This is one of the classics....and deservedly so. I dropped hints about this for a gift and finally gave up and bought it for myself! A fragrance that was formulated at the beginning of the last century (1906) and has a timeless charm. It's evocative of afternoon picnics, boating parties and straw hats on an Edwardian summer afternoon without being your grandmother's perfume. It has bergamot, neroli, aniseed, hawthorn, violet, heliotrope, iris and musk and possibly rose in it as well. It is a light and delicate fragrance that reminds me of running through carpets of violets and jasmine after a torrential rainfall. It isn't cloying...it's perfection. (One of Luca Turin's Top Ten of all time. I agree.)

This is a classic Guerlain fragrance. To the newcomer it can be difficult to appreciate, as with many of the classic Guerlains. But once you 'get' it, you're hooked. First produced in 1906, it is loved again by a whole new perfumista generation.This is a light as a feather fragrance in the style of the classic L'Heure Bleue. It is a completely different style of perfumery to the contemporary light florals.Its notes are:Bergamot, Neroli, Aniseed Violet, Heliotrope, Carnations Hawthorn Musk Vanilla Iris.I found it quite addictive once I understood it. It doesn't last long on the skin, but is well worth the 'ride'. There are plenty of good reviews of the actual notes, as well as what sort of feeling is conjured up whilst wearing it, Just google Apres l'Ondee reviews to get more specific information. People wax lyrical about Apres l'Ondee (After the Shower) and with good reason. It will take you into a whole new world of perfume experience. Mind you, this advice comes from someone who hated AlO on first acquaintance!!!
