Lovely timeless classic.

WE'VE HAD THIS BENCH NOW FOR ABOUT FIVE WEEKS, LESS THAN A WEEK AFTER ORDERING. I MEANT TO OIL IT, BUT HAVEN'T GOT ROUND TO IT, SO IT HAS BEEN OUT IN THE RELENTLESS RAINS OF THE PAST FORTNIGHT. IT HAS NOT SHOWN ANY SIGN OF WARPING OR SPLITTING,BUT HAS DEVELOPED THE CUSTOMARY SILVERED APPEARANCE, WHICH IS REALLY ATTRACTIVE. I AM NOW CONSIDERING THAT I MIGHT NOW BOTHER WITH THE OIL, AS THE QUALITY IS SUCH THAT IT CAN BE LEFT NATURAL.THERE ARE ONLY TWO BRASS SCREWS, SO THERE IS NOTHING TO RUST. THE LIMITED AMOUNT OF ASSEMBLY (BACK & SEAT TO SIDES & CROSS-MEMBER BETWEEN)IS BY THE USE OF DOWELLS. MY HUSBAND ADDED A SPOT OF WOOD GLUE FOR EXTRA STRENGTH, ALTHOUGH NOT STRICTLY NECESSARY.SO WE HAVE A STURDY, BEAUTIFUL PIECE OF QUALITY FURNITURE THAT I AM CONFIDENT WILL LAST US FOR MANY YEARS.

We ordered this bench Saturday lunchtime and it was delivered Tuesday morning. My husband put it together in a very short time and was full of praise for the quality of the workmanship. He said it was really easy to fit together, that the standard of fixings was excellent and the wood itself is of a high quality. Praise indeed!! We would recommend it without hesitation.
