Elite Ghibli Parabolic Roller trainer
By Nick SC
These were my introduction to rollers. Cycling Plus said rollers were the best form of indoor training and I was keen to have something which didn't put strange stress on my bike and which was compact and quick to set up. These rollers are ideal. I was nervous about them to start. I set them up in a doorway so that I could start with elbows touching the door frame. Within 5 minutes I was comfortable for short spells riding free and after a couple more short indoor sessions I set them up in my garage with a wall on one side and a garden chair stabilised with a heavy toolbox in the seat on the other. Surprising things are how quickly you 'slow down' when you ease off - but enough time to change gear, to begin with you're reluctant to take a hand off the handle bars for anything or to look down at the heart rate monitor or timer on the handlebars, how little space the rollers take up when folded, how quickly one starts to sweat (I've rigged up a sweat catching strip of cloth between the seat post and the handbar stem), and how you need to set targets e.g. using the heart rate monitor and working through intervals at different intensities, and to have the radio on to keep boredom at bay. These rollers are quiet and smooth. They lack resistance settings, but changing to a higher gear gives more resistance. Rollers really do improve pedalling efficiency - I didn't believe it before. In summary, excellent value, very convenient and I've no regrets. One more thing - the parabolic ends are helpful for beginners. It's easy to stray from the centre and they give a slight warning squeal when you brush up against the parabolic ends.

keep those legs pumping
By P. Winthrop
Just received the rollers today and ( after minimal assembly ) had a quick trial. Some points: Use a lever of some sort to prise the band that rotates the front wheel on or you may give your fingers a tough time. If your bike has a long wheelbase, measure and double check before ordering. My bike is on longest available setting. Until you are proficient, place the rollers in between a doorframe or kitchen units for something to hold on ( and grab in emergency ). Put a toolbox or similar next to the rollers to use as a step for mounting the bike. Try a gear somewhere in the middle of your bikes range to get going. Keep your cadence up and dont look down.. keep your eyes fixed on something straight in front of you.First of all I didnt fall off ! I kept a hand on a worktop to build up some speed before putting it on the handlebar.. this is when I had a few wobbles. Its important to keep your upper body movement to a minimum, any sudden jerks will have the bike all over the place ( Its like riding on ice ). If you feel a wobble starting, keep focusing straight ahead and dont slow your pedalling rate.. the bike will straighten out. I managed to keep going for short periods today and dont think it will take long to improve. I did 7 miles and it seemed like my legs had done 15/20 on the road. Fitness here I come !!

Rollers, what a way to spend a cold winter evening.
By Stuart Malyon
So my first set of rollers and I am very impressed. At first I struggled and it took me quite a while to get the hang of it but once I had, what a workout! They're a real solid construction, arrived completely assembled and fortunately set up for the size of my bike so I just tweaked the nuts and I was ready to ride. One thing that really annoyed me about every review/description I read was that I couldn't find the overall dimensions of the rollers anywhere so here goes,Overall length : 1350mmOverall width :450mmWidth of Rollers :260mmAll in all cracking buy, great fun and a good way to keep on the ball with your cycling over those miserable winter months, or roller I should say =]
