Solid & weighty.....

I managed to purchase these from Amazon at a bargain price, as well as the price of the product the 24 piece set is presented nicely and comes boxed as pictured. The cutlery handles are abount 10mm longer than the average size cutlery & there is definate weight to the utensils, especially the knives.I am really happy with the purchase & pleased I went for a more quality set, that has a simple design, nice to hold & of course to eat with. Happy to recommend..

I'm very pleased with the price-quality ratio of this good-looking cutlery. Good weight, well balanced, a fairly good finish that has so far stayed. The new knives also bring to my attention how blunt my old ones are. Without doubt you should feel happy to use these when you have guests as well as in everyday use. One proviso, as others have noted: these implements are longer by 1 to 1.5 cm than typical, so if you have children moving up from smaller to adult sizes, these might not be the democratic choice for the family, though I'm not at all suggesting they are cumbersome (though I don't think it would be pleasant to try and get the whole desert spoon in your mouth -- in fact they are described as 'table spoons', but don't we often multitask with them?). I suspect the atypical size in part accounts for the extremely fair price, as other wmf sets don't seem quite so heavily discounted. Still, an excellent buy for the money.

Great quality, but dessert spoons too big!

This cutlery set is really good quality, and on the face of it an excellent bargain from Amazon. The knives and forks have a nice, weighty feel to them and I am sure they would be lovely and comfortable to use. The tablespoons, however, are exactly that - tablespoons! They are far too big in my opinion to use as dessert spoons. They are as tall as the forks and the bowls are too deep. If you don't mind a large dessert spoon though, I'd definitely go ahead and buy the set. I decided, reluctantly, to send mine back. Also, make sure you count everything before accepting as mine came minus one of the knives!
