JVC Boombox Boom boom!

This boombox is clearly the best of the batch I have ever owned.Don't even bother looking elsewhere. It took me 6 months hunting before I found out why, you will get told the same, there is nothing that touches what JVC did over the last 2 decades.Not sure how good the latest addition (NB50) model really is but the older models are AWESOME!The volume is louder on this model than any new models produced by JVC. Older models spec 60 watts I believe whereas the new model are 10 watts less output.The NB20B also has a special IPOD/Iphone socket to attach your Iphone/Ipod and play your own music from external source.Earlier JVC models to the NB20B have a jack socket instead which you can get to attach a Iphone with an Iphone to 3.5mm jack plug.The NB20B and earlier models have seperate bass and volume control which is awesome (one of the best things I like).The NB20 was designed with ability to play MP3 format CD'scan't remember that the earlier ones didn't but with this model when the tracks are playing the description comes up (in the blue window when using mains supply - no blue light for battery operation).I also have a car invertor when i am desperate and I plug into the cigarette lighter in my car boot and use for beach parties when batteries are exhasuted. Well I used to have this problem but not anymore.The battery life is not very good, but extreme do batteries that last 10 hours (10,000 mah size "D" batteries), so using this option give you very good portable use.The unit is very heavy, but I tend to carry around in a large long bag with wheels with bubble wrap because I love this baby and anyone coems within 1 foot needs to have a good reason. You can't get these units easily and when the Nb20B does come up for sale it's a frantic rush to get your hands on one.The NB20B has CD and Ipod whereas older models have CD and Cassette only. So obviously if you are into CD's and IPOD's then the NB20 get's the prize. definately the best of the bunch and has a prestige spot in my study amongst my other prized possessions.Previous models and some I currently own:RV-B90 Mains and battery (Previously Owned)RV-B99 Mains and battery (Previously Owned)RV-NB10 Mains and battery Currently OwnRV-NB20 Mains and battery Currently OwnJVC RD-MD5 Mains Only but has mini disc Curently OwnWhy JVC could not just keep producing this model I don't know!!!! even in spares they would make enough money to keep this line profitable.

I bought this for a dance group that some friends run. It is great. It fills the hall that they use and is a robust item. I ordered it on Thursday and next day the seller emailed to ask if he could hand deliver it that evening. He not only delivered the item but gave me a short lesson on its features. Great product and great service.

This is an amazing sound machine, you get such a big sound out of this relatively small thing. If you like your music with a lot of bass this is the bees knees. Don't be put off by the way it looks, because I was at first, all is forgiven when you hear this mighty beast roar. I totally love it! As it does allow you to connect your iPod I would recommend you to get this instead of getting other iPod docs if you are looking for a really good powerful sound.
