One for pet owners!
By Mrs. Ann Beardmore
Sebo FELIX NAVY Twin Motor Upright Vacuum CleanerWhat a fantastic piece of kit! My border collie cross is moulting at the moment and where he lies at the side of the bed the carpet becomes a "hairy rug" - with the Sebo just one pass and the hairs are gone. Have tried Vax and Dysons but these bear no comparison to the Sebo. Not the lightest machine in the world but when hoovering the stairs, the weight of the machine is balanced by the large side handle. The head is very easy to remove when using as a hand-held unit. A lovely quiet machine with great manoevrability. Also, one of the quiestest I have used - can even hear the phone ring. Would highly recommend!!

Good and bad points
By I. M. Mcdonald
Having had two Sebo X1 machines over the last several years, I thought I would treat myself to a FELIX because I thought it might be more versatile. In many ways it is, I like that you can adjust the suction power; I like the fact you can lift the heavy head off for cleaning stairs; I like the way it can slip further under furniture. I also like the swivelling function to some extent, but I am missing the stability of the X1. I also miss the intelligent storage of tools on the back of the body in the X1. My X1 didn't like smooth floors at all, so I thought the parquet head would be useful, but it isn't as good as I expected. Although the FELIX is recommended as a pet-owner's cleaner (and is excellent at picking long samoyed hairs off carpets) it isn't so brilliant with the same hairs on a smooth floor. The hairs just seem to be pushed around (one reviewer suggests that a dustpan and brush could be as good and I have some sympathy with that view). On balance I'm happy with the Felix, but I'm not sure I would recommend it. I have been very impressed with Sebo cleaners' longevity in the past (my X1 has been passed to my mother, still cleaning nicely after 5 years of heavy use) and would recommend the make but maybe not the model. Also, Amazon is not necessarily the cheapest place to buy, do a bit of research online and you could save a fair bit of money.

I would not buy another Sebo
By Pip
I bought a Sebo Felix thinking it would be better than the 3 Dysons I have owned, and also the 5 year guarantee (Dyson were not doing that at the time) and GHI award swayed me to buy one.I agree with most of the 5* and 4* reviews but there are some points that I have discovered after using a Sebo Felix for 2 years which mean I would not buy one again especially as they are expensive ...The hose split within 18 months of purchase which was a worse performance than Dyson. Of course the hose is not covered by the fantastic 5 year guarantee and are, as you would expect, expensive to replace. The copper wire inside the cable split on 2 occasions near to the vacuum cleaner. The swivel neck mechanism which makes the Sebo Felix more manoeuvrable has a very poor lock design (to lock it in the upright position) and on the one I have this frequently "unlocks" and the top part of the cleaner twists round and falls over.In the instructions it notes that the vacuum cleaner is not stable when using the hose with attachments and must be held at all times. Being used to heavyweight Dysons which did not need to be held, I found this really restricting. It means that whilst one hand is holding the Sebo to stop it falling over and the other hand is working the attachment there is no free hand to move ornaments or anything that you are cleaning under or around. The solution is to buy the long and expensive extension hose. The Dysons I have owned have had a much better reach when using attachments. The supplied hose length on the Sebo Felix is quite short.Sebo both in the UK and Germany have been very unresponsive when I have put these points to them.
