Product Description

The Mitsubishi Electric MJE16VX-E1 build quality is far superior to anything else we have in stock and its range of features make it adaptable for a wide range of applications. For example:-

For the home - it is quieter than any other model and can dry laundry. Especially in a flat the quietness is a major plus and as the main source of damp in a flat is clothes drying the fact that it can dry laundry is a major plus.

The mildew guard function provides complete control of the home by touching just one button. The dehumidifier then makes all of the decisions for you. The washable deodorizing filter removes 90% of all pollens and keeps the air clear. These two features help allergy suffers.

The clear display makes it clear what is happening and provides you more flexibility than any other machine in the U.K.

For Cars, Caravans and Boats - Mitsubishi Electric dehumidifiers have always been very popular with users who have an application to protect something special and valuable at low temperatures. The MJE16VX is more than capable of keeping a double garage, boat or caravan dry and controlled over a hard winter. The MJ range has always done well in independent reviews, more often than not being voted Best on Test.

They have hot gas defrost to prevent freezing and a low temperature function to ensure that they will extract the maximum amount of moisture when the going gets tough. The electronic humidistat ensures that it only works when necessary, saving electricity.

Continuous drainage is easy to fit and the dehumidifier is stable when put on a side to drain into a sink.

5Superb
By Simon Raistrick
We have had this now for about 3 years, and approximately 2 years ago we bought an industrial-quality eBac dehumidifier for a different area of the house. The Mitsibishi is much slimmer than the eBac, makes about 1/10 of the noise, and works much better. The eBac has been back for repair once under warranty and is about to go again - it just stops working after a while. The Mitsu is still great after 3 years despite running almost 24-7 for a month or two. Fantastic.

4Mitsubishi MJ-E16VX-E1

This is a quality product that is easy to use. The controls and display are clear and simple to use and the compact design makes it easy to locate. The fan operates whenever the unit senses dehumidification is required and although marketed as one of the quietest, is still intrusive enough to mean we don't use it through the night, (sounds a bit like a normal fan heater on max setting). We have also found that you need to move the unit between rooms to ensure best results, ie. for drying laundry or to dry a bathroom. Whilst portable, it is still not that light, so care is needed. It's to early to comment on reliability, but in conclusion, although not cheap, we would recommend the unit.

4Expensive, but does the job very well without excessive noise
By Gordy
I had originally intended to buy an Ebac, but after seeing a top of the range 6200 in operation i decided against because it was intolerably noisy, even on low fan setting. The Ebac would also have been more expensive to maintain, requiring its filters be replaced every 3 months, while the Mitsubishi's dust filter can be vacuumed (they recommend every fortnight) and the odour filter can simply be washed and 're-charged' in sunlight (every 3 months, up to a total of 8 times). The Mitsubishi (MJE16VX-E1), like any dehumidifier, does produce noise when operating, but i wouldn't describe it as particularly noisy. It is placed on the landing and i don't find it too bothersome trying to sleep with the bedroom door open while it's operating, although if you require silence when sleeping (as some do) you will be able to hear it and may have to close your bedroom doors. The manual states that it removes 16L per day at 80% relative humidity at 30*C, which compares favourably with the Ebac, whose impressive 25L/day extraction was derived under conditions of 90% relative humidity and 32*C (for any dehumidifier, the higher the humidity and temperature, the greater the amount of water extracted; it would be interesting to know how the Ebac performs at 80% and 30*C).The laundry setting works very well indeed, managing to dry a full load of washing in under 5 hours, but does require that you hang the laundry in a small room, such as a bathroom, together with the dehumidifier and close the door. There are a range of different programmes on the machine but i've only used the manual function where you set your desired humidity level and the machine works to maintain it, switching itself on when the level is exceeded, and turning off when it has been reached and maintained for a period of time. Other programmes include 'Easy dehumidification', constant, anti-mildew, laundry, low temperature operation, and air-purification only. There is also a programmable 9 hour timer.Although this is an expensive machine i wouldn't hesitate to buy again and i would recommend it to anybody who needs a dehumidifier but for whom noise is a concern. If i was to require a machine for daytime use only, or operation in a seldom-used room (eg garage) then i'd probably go for a cheaper, but noisier, machine.
