A very good and easy to use ball head, giving you full freedom of movement with a quick and easy locking system. There is no doubt that a ball head is the easiest camera mount for positioning a camera when taking landscapes or macro style work. With the ability to pre-set the initial tension of the ball head and then locking it fully with just a quarter turn makes life quite easy. This ball head also has the slots that allow for full tilt of the camera, some ball heads don't have this which limits how far you can tilt down or up. Nicely made with the base clearly marked allowing you to use it for panoramic work. The two locking levers, one for the base and the one for the quick release plate incorporate a mechanism to allow you to position the handle when locked to a desired position. You pull the handle out and rotate to where you require so that they out of the way. It comes in a variety of forms where the difference is the type of quick release plate that is employed. I got this particular one as the quick release plate matched my other Manfrotto head.
