Good panniers. Good value.

I brought these panniers as im about to embark on a two week intense bicycle ride from London to Scotland and i desperately needed a large, sturdy set of pannier bags. I had been to Halfords and other stores that specialized in bicycle equipment but nowhere offered what i was looking for. One particular pannier brand i looked at (Bikehut) in Halfords did sell 42 litre panniers but the material seemed to be of poor quality and if i tried, im sure i could have ripped the panniers open with my hands there and then. And i found that the prices for good quality bags (such as Ortlieb) at specialized bike shops were way out of my price range. So i saw these panniers on amazon and took a risk and im extremely happy that i did. When these bags arrived i could tell imediately that the matrial quality was high and would be very resistant to 'wear and tear' on the road. They fit perfectly to my pannier rack (be sure to purhcase these panniers before the rack to test which will fit most efficiantly) and have a high storage capacity. Ive taken them out on a few training rides and they have performed perfectly. The only slight niggles i have with them is that due to the design of the clip lid, you do lose a bit of storage room as they need room to fit over the top to be able to clip to the other side. Also that they do not come with additional elasticated waterproof covers which are povided with other brands. But overall, these are fantastic, durable panniers and will be an invalueble asset to me on my travels.

Altura Arran 46 Litre Panniers

There are less zipper pockets than the last Altura Arran pannier model, which is highly regrettable. However, the fixings for the pannier rack are the same quality as before, and these panniers are 100% secure over the nastiest of bumps on the road. These pammiers can only withstand light rain, so I reuse the rain covers from my previous Altura Arran 46's. The capacity is wholly adequate for my grocery shopping and cycletours.

wrong paniers

I bought these paniers as a replacement and after checking the size and the photo on Amazon I went ahead and ordered them. When they arrived it was clear immediately that I had not been sent the paniers I had ordered. I sent them back at a cost of £8 and was reimbursed but only for the paniers.
