Great for University
By T. C. Robson
I was looking for something that combined the usefulness of a pannier bag with the convenience of a rucksack/courier bag. I have to say this is as close to perfect as I could hope for. The capacity is excellent, allowing for a 15" Powerbook, books, chunky bike lock - the lot. The Rixen & Kaul fixtures are the most secure and easily clipped/unclipped I have ever used. The bag hangs on the pannier rack at a 45 degree angle, which means you don't clip it with your heels when on the move. You get the best of both worlds. Much recommended.

Quality bag but capable of improvement
By Stuart
This bag is very good quality and has plenty of space for laptop, bundles of papers and in my case a spare pair of shoes. The bag is somewhat larger than I imagined it to be and even when empty seems to weigh a ton, but then it is supposedly waterproof (not tested yet) and has enough cushioning to reduce the likelihood of damage to your laptop should you drop it (also not tested).I very much like the clipping device that attaches the bag to the rack which is so much better than anything found at the cheaper end of the market. The other plus point is the sloping angle of the bag once on the bike which is designed to avoid it being clipped by your foot when pedalling.I would echo comments about the rather poorly designed pocket at the front of the bag which gapes open when the bag is on the full side. I think I would have been happy to pay a bit more for something more secure and that looks tidier, for example a couple of zippy compartments for easy access to phone, wallet, etc.Unfortunately as this bag is rather ungainly I am now looking for something more compact. Altura do a couple of smaller and, in my view smarter, briefcases so I am contemplating down-sizing.

Decent briefcase/pannier but could do with a zipped pocket
By Mr Frog
This definitely works well as a pannier that's smart and easy enough to carry about like a regular laptop bag / briefcase. Just what I was after.Pros: Securely fastens to luggage rack with nifty little push button release. Well made. Excellent multi-layer waterproofing. Looks good.Cons: The sidepocket has lots of handy little spaces to store small items in, but it's not zipped or securely closable. When the pannier is stuffed full, it can flare open, and so valuable contents are not entirely secure.
