Product Description

These new MG mixers are lighter and smaller than ever while offering some innovative new features.
The MG102C and MG82CX are ideal mixers for basic music production or live sound applications that require high sound quality from a relatively small number of input sources. Both models are remarkably compact and lightweight, but no compromises have been made in sound quality. They even have built-in channel compressors that, although easy to operate, can significantly enhance the quality of your mixes. An optional adaptor allows these mixers to be mounted on a microphone stand for easy access and convenient positioning on stage. The MG82CX additionally features top-quality SPX digital effects built in, so you won't need any extra equipment for many applications.

5Rugged and Functional, Good Quality.
By C. R. Downing
This is actually the MG10/2 if you are looking around the web for more specifications. I've had one for about 5 years now and it's been great for using with bands at gigs, in the studio and whatever. It has 4 mic inputs that can be preamped as well as controlling the levels (OK so that's what it does in a mixer - but it does mean you can raise the volume of a mic as well as cut it.) Two pairs of phono inputs which I've used from my iPod or CD player, a pair of phonos in / out for recording, and four pairs of stereo ins (could be used as eight ins if you shared a channel and had one in the left and one in the right. Aslo has aux channels so you can add a couple of effects outboard and mix them in - only one effect per channel though - so you could have some reverb on the mics and some chorus on the guitars - but not both unless your effects processer did both. Will also do 48v phantom on two channels. No sliders and just a lights bar chart to show output - but fully gigable and seems as robust as anything else we've tried and ceratinly outlived some cheaper stuff we had.

5The right mixture
By Peter Taylor
Actually delivered was the MG102C which is the more recent incarnation of this machine, so six stars for that. Check this with seller before you buy.The mixer has a solid build , clear sound, and easy to understand layout. Looks great too. There are a number of input jack options so you'll probably be OK without converter plugs whatever equipment you have. Also worth considering is the slightly more expensive MG82CX which is basically the same machine but inputs 9/10 are made over to a limited but useful effects unit. If I didn't already have a good standalone effects box I'd probably have opted for this. On either machine stereo Aux return can be used as a further pair of inputs if no effects required .

4Nice Mini Desk
By Steve
I bought this primarily for it's built-in pre-amp which is very good indeed. It's completely transparent when I plug in my condenser mic. The one-knob compression is so-so - it does colour the sound a little when it kicks in. Best to leave it off and compress afterwards if necessary. Other than the average compression, this is a very nice mini desk with a very nice price tag.
