Simply Amazing
By K.K
First of all the looks: this guitar is stunning. It looks much better when you see it in person; the blue is very very dark and looks black from some angles. But when you look up close you can see the wood patterns under the blue coating - its amazing. It has pearl(ish) dot inlays and the Yamaha logo also has a pearly finish. If I had to be picky, the only thing that is a bit of a let-down looks wise is the pick guard which is meant to resemble tortoise shell, but looks very fake up close (but you cant tell from a few feet away). But you don't buy a guitar for the looks right? This guitar comes with a solid top; the sound is very bright and deep without being too punchy. Although this isn't an electro-acoustic, this guitar can be very loud on its own, and the chords sound much fuller/deeper/brighter than on my previous guitar. As for the fretboard and string action - this guitar is perfection. I've tried out lots of other guitars in the store, including Guilds and Martins but surprisingly I found this guitar the easiest/most comfortable to play. The strings are very close to the fretboard, which makes playing barre chords amazingly easy. On my old guitar (a takamine) I could not play proper barre chords; with the Yamaha they're a real joy to play, and I'm finding it hard to believe I ever found them difficult. The only issue some might have with this guitar is that the neck is attached in a way which makes accessing anything above the 12th fret a bit of a struggle, but its not a problem for me as i rarely play that high anyway.I had my strings changed when I got this guitar (nothing wrong with the stock ones, I just like extra-lights) and I've only had to tune the guitar once since then, and I've played it for over 10 hours since yesterday. So it would seem that it doesn't go out of tune easily. To sum up - you wont get a better value guitar for this money, and I've tried out guitars that were 4 times as expensive and still liked this one more.Whether you're a beginner or you're been playing for years, this guitar is a great choice. My friend who has been playing for over 10 years could not put this thing down once I let him have a go on it:)Overall - beautiful guitar, with a great sound, incredibly easy to play, and with a solid top - you cant go wrong.

Light and Day

I did wonder whether £200 was a bit excessive considering I have the musical capability of a cupcake. But, if I'm honest I likes the colour. I'm glad I did though because this is a fantastic instrument and so much better than anything I've heard before. The tone is beautiful and even makes me sound brilliant (to my ears anyway), and I have spent every moment possible playing it. And that's the point really isn't it? There are cheaper Yamaha's available in this series including a £100 one. Your choice I guess but what I can say is that is a beautiful sounding AND looking guitar.
