Have had this saddle for a while now and done a shade over 2000 miles on it , I find it very comfortable and had no problems with it at all ,It's built really well and i would say 300 to 400 miles to break in , It did not take long to find best riding position (50 mile ride) and i have not moved it since . Brooks have been making saddles since 1866 so they should know what they are doing by now . Real quality at an affordable price , Highly reccomended for the serious touring cyclist or those who go just that bit further than most , If you only ride maybe 5 or so miles every other day i dont think you will benefit from this saddle and maybe one of those ridiculously spongy gell seats is for you..

Having read all the reviews and being old enough to remember them being popular when I was a boy I decided to buy one in a fit of retro fever. Well, I used Proof hide as directed and on my first ride I thought I had made a big mistake, but by the time I'd done a few miles it was already uncomfortably tolerable. I tried again the next day and decided to slacken off the tension 1/4 of a turn. That did the trick 'Ah better!' after a week doing about 12 miles a day it was fine so I tighten it back up 1/4 turn - still fine. Three months later it's fantastic and seems to get better all the time. I have just bought a second one for my new Ridgeback Panorama I wouldn't bother trying anything else if you do a lot of mileage. I cover about 3000-4000 miles a year.Brooks B17 Saddle is simply the Best!

I've always had a sore bottom after long rides, and a friend recommended me a brooks. I tried it on his bike, and I was amazed how comfy it was, it was unbelievable. I've ordered this the next day, and I've since put on some 5000 miles. The saddle is breaking in with time, getting even more comfortable with each mile.It does need to be looked after a bit, it's not a good idea to leave it on a bike outside while it's raining.
