Good looking but pull out function is flawed

We have recently acquired two single lever taps with pull outs from this same German supplier and I cannot fault the service in respect of product despription, response to enquiries and delivery.I am not knowledgeable of plumbing, but like the other tap, this one required us to buy a different hose as it didn't fit our plumbing and I presume this to be a German to UK mismatch but the part was easily and cheaply sourced so not a major issue.To this tap. It looks gorgeous. We originally wanted the Franke Fuji tap with pull out as that tap has a sculptural swan neck. However, we viewed it in John Lewis and the design of the neck meant that gravity was working considerably against the pullout and it really impaired the performance. Given it's nearly horizontal design, we hoped this one would be better and it is but it isn't perfect. It is weighted down in order to get the pull out to retract and the installer needs to choose the correct place to put the weight so that it gets optimal performance i.e. it pulls out sufficiently far but pulls in sufficiently well. To be honest, it's adequate but a bit of a compromise. That said, the pull out function aside, it's a terrific tap.On the other hand, the other tap we bought, a Blanco, is less attractive (the pull out resembles a shower attachment) but much more functional as not only does the pull out function operate very smoothly but it also has a spray function. We have that one in our utility room where its functional nature fits in perfectly.One small quibble, the pull out hose on this Franke tap was impaired slightly as the coils were separating in the way that old shower hoses do. However, it was below the bit that shows so we just used it anyway.
