this is a great train if you have it on its own lay out, but if you put the train in a big lay out with other trains you will find a problem. because the coaches are connected by a pin and a hole it swings, so if you have the eurostar on a track that is in the inside of another and a different train is on the other outer track , when the go passed each other they will clash becuse of the euro star swinging. But overall a good roduct.

I've wanted one of these since I was 7, now, another seven years on and I've finally got one!!! This train is fantastic, and even better, I'm out of that childhood phase when, if you have an electric train set, you just put it at top speed and fling it off the track at the corners. Hopefully I wont break this one, and will start to collect very soon, especially when I become 16 and get a job. Great for beginners, great for experienced, and if you are a speedy kind of person, then you'll want to have a big space with ALOT of track to get this up to top speed!!!

A very good train set by Hornby. Before I bought this, I read quite a few reviews of both this an other Hornby train sets before purchasing this one. I decided to pay the bit extra as this comes with both TrakPack A and TrakPack B which give the Oval + a small and large Sidings.Yes I spent a few hours carefully putting the track together on the Trakmat (I removed the creases 1st!) and made up the Oval and tested the train before adding the two TrakPacks one at a time testing the train after adding each one.The train is a very good copy of the real one which I saw close up a few years ago at Leeds Railway station.I think that this Train Set would be a bit expensive just to let little ones play with it on their own, but under supervision I would say that they should be able to have hours of fun. - (Explain to them how it works and let them use the controller).Yes it does fly off the track on corners when the power is turned full, but then so would the real one !Hornby do make extra TrakPacks to add to and you can put extra trains on the same track, but can't join them to the Eurostar as the Eurostar has its own coupling system which is different from most of the other trains.In all a very good train set.
