The 550 was the first soft camera bag manufactured in Britain. It s continuing success, both as a spacious camera bag and as a general travel bag have meant that, apart from a few very minor improvements, it remains much the same as when it was first introduced. The adjustable shoulder sling comes complete with a leather and neoprene SP20 shoulder pad. An 8-15, 9-15 and 9-18 Superflex, together with a flap are included. Weight 2.6kgs.

Simply the best

I know some people like hard sided bags to "protect" their equipment... but my cameras and lenses are perfectly safe in this bag (maybe some people shouldn't be so clumsy!). I know some people prefer back-packs as this more evenly distributes the weight when carrying the bag. For me, these are irrelevances. I work as a live music photographer, so the walk from my car to the venue is rarely far. Carrying the bag on one shoulder or another, even when at an all-day or multi-day festival, doesn't discomfort me. What I do like about this bag, above any other I have owned, is that I can quickly and easily access all of my equipment (2 bodies, 4 lenses, 2 flash guns + other bits and pieces). Above all, I know that this bag will last and last. My Billingham 550 is over 20 years old and has at least another 30 years of life left in it, if not more. When traveling abroad, it's also just small enough to count as hand luggage for all but budget airlines (and I don't fly with them anyway).For me, this is simply the best camera bag ever.

Billingham 555 Khaki Canvas Camera Bag with Tan Leather Trim I bought my first Billingham bag over 25 years ago, and it's still going strong. So there was no contest when it came to buying another bag. The Billingham 555 is the ultimate camera bag in terms of practicality and durability. The materials and craftsmanship are simply stunning, as is the practicality. It has obviously been designed with real working photographers in mind. I can easily carry all my necessary kit for one job in it, and everything is easily to hand.It takes a bit of thought to get the very best out of using this bag: there is an overwhelming temptation that just because there is space left, you can pack a couple more things in. This is a mistake: you won't be able to lift it!I've had this bag and used it on a daily basis for around three years, and wouldn't change it for anything. It's simply the standard by which all others are judged.You may think it's expensive, but when you look at the rate of attrition of lesser bags, you'll realise it is in fact a bargain. Once you buy one of these, you will never want anything else.Highly recommended, start saving your pennies now.
