Dare to be different?
By Mr. G. Goulding
To put it simply I have a fascination with watches. The problem is I don't have the wage to match. I have been looking at buying an expensive watch for a while, with contenders such as Rolex and Omega I would struggle to get change from £2000. However I came across a picture of an Ingersoll on my travels around different watch websites, and was immediately attracted to its simple yet strikingly different style.I did a little research on the company back ground which turned out to be pretty prestigious and historic, having provided watches for some famous people such as Ghandi, Edison and Roosevelt. I looked around for different watches made by Ingersoll and found this, the Ghandi. My mission was to find out where I could get hold of it. I found it at another website for cheaper, but with a waiting time of several weeks I picked amazon.co.uk for faster delivery.Upon arrival I was impressed with the sheer beauty of such the watch. It seems so well made, so stunning and classic. A real piece of art for your wrist. I wanted to wear it straight away. This caused a problem; the stunning strap, or buckle more to the point, is quite simply a silly design. It really is one of a kind. There is a reason for that.I may have weird shape hands, but I can't get it on without totally undoing the strap. The way it works is you set the size, and to get it on or off you unclip it which makes it have a bigger diameter. But it just isn't big enough to get over my hands. This means I have to totally undo the strap to get it on or off, which is quite a task as it is so complicated.A couple of months on and I am getting used to it - but it can still cause me to spend a couple of minutes getting it on.Apart from this though I am very happy. I wore it whilst sailing from Portugal to the UK, so it took quite a battering of salt water and sea air, constant moving and knocked about. On returning home it was still in brand new condition, and telling the correct time.Being mechanical it is not 100% accurate. It does seem to be five minutes fast every three weeks or so, but that really isn't a problem. The date, day and month dials are a little odd though, if you can see them that is. The date dial is very hard to read, but I get the feeling that is the point. It has also told me once that it is the 39th of the month, which does strike me as odd. It does get confused at the end/beginning on the month and you have to change the date and month to the correct one, but again this is hardly an issue. Now that the novelty has worn off, would I buy it again?Without a shadow of a doubt yes! I am the first to admit it has issues which could be fixed, but I am sure so do watches ten times the price. The main feature of this watch is the looks, and it looks so stunning. Look close up and you can see all the interior workings, which are so finely crafted it will provide endless interest.

Nice one Ingersoll!
By Mr. Stephen F. Mann
Exactly as described.Strap is a bit weird and having dainty little wrists, I had to make an extra hole, but this is my problem and easily solved.Had it a couple of weeks and accurate to within 30 seconds a day, as anticipated. I wear it 24/7 except in water.A couple of minor gripes. It is so elaborate that the time is not always easily read as the hands are so dainty, and the date digits are the same colour as the background, so quite hard to make out.Bonus - the hands glow in the dark, and don't fade out after a couple of hours!Certainly an attractive piece and a bargain price.Very pleased.

Ingersoll Ghandi Automatic watch
By James
My item was delivered within the specified time frame. Once opened, a stunning watch case was revealed. It was no surprise therefore to find a magnificent watch inside that exudes quality. The strap is a bit awkward, but this did not hinder my satisfaction. If you are looking for more than just a timepiece that is reasonably priced, look no further.
