Good watch, let down by lack of luminosity

This is a fine watch. Like Chipko (see other review) I bought it to replace my sturdy old G1098 army watch (which, like most watches, was never as watertight once the battery had been changed). The one letdown of this Pulsar watch is that the luminosity of the hands fades in a couple of hours, so you can't actually tell the time in the dark unless there is some ambient light. Otherwise, good value.

Pros: good timekeeper. Plus this watch survived two years in the Congo and dusty safaris in South Africa without ever letting me down. Not bling enough to attract watch-snatchers' attention.Cons: case feels as though it's deeper top to bottom than it needs to be compared with genuine military issue; strap looks G10 but isn't (hasn't the extra length to go over NBC suit, but on the plus side doesn't have the extra fold of strap to find a home for that G10 straps do). If you want a real throwaway try the Lorus Lumibrite, but this is a little more upmarket.Overall: good watch and good value.

Great timekeeping & great looking

This is a military style watch with a canvas strap. It is light weight and not too thick. It looks really good on the wrist without being too flashy. keeps good time and the buttons are easy to use without being pressed accidentally. The adjustment knob has good click stops and changing date or time is not problem (I have other watches that are very fiddly to adjust).it is robust and has not been affected by being soaked once or twice. Luminous dial is readable for a couple of hours. Stopwatch function is useful for timing sports events.I really like this watch as it is classy without being "bling".Note that the strap is a standard 20mm fit and hence can easily be replaced if you don't like canvas.
