Top notch watch

This is a lovely watch, heavy-duty build and very high quality. Highly-polished case and bracelet, clear and attractive face which is interesting to behold but mercifully unencumbered with additional and utterly unnecessary dials and gadgets. Sexy, old school automatic movement, excellent luminescence. The secure bracelet was adjusted in seconds at my local jeweller (3 links-average sized wrist) for free. Atractive red/blue bezel is well-made, rotates anti-clockwise only and is very positive in use. Sweep second hand (luminous), easy date/time change, looks as good as the top Swiss brands. UPDATE June 2011- Having owned the watch for several months without problems, it has recently decided to stop working on 4 occasions so I'll be returning it, leaving my confidence in Seiko watches irrevocably damaged. My 5-star award is now revoked and replaced with the wooden spoon!

Seiko Men's Black Dial 200M Professional Automatic Diver Watch # SKX009 SKX009K2Bought mine; almost the exact same watch 28 years ago; back for repairs twice; good efficient service dept. Thoroughly recommend this watch; my own is still OK but for a missing bezel which Seiko is unable to replace due to the age of the watch; so I am looking forward to receiving my new Seiko which will outlive me!

I bought mine over the internet. My uncle, an amateur scuba diver, has a similar one. He's had it since the early seventies. How wrong can one go with a watch that has the potential to last for decades? Of course you have to be sure that this watch is for YOU. Now I'm not a macho, muscular type of man. Rather the average, slim type. But this one is definitely me.It's an automatic, a mechanical watch. Don't expect Quartz precision (no changing of batteries either). Some have reported theirs going fast or slow, up to 2 min. per week. Mine is accurate to about 30 sec./week. I can live with that. If it bothers me, I'll take it to the watchmaker for adjustment. Yes, it can be adjusted and mechanical watches need maintenance from time to time. What good thing doesn't?Only one thing bothers me. The watch will glow in the dark, only if its been a short while out of the light. It's dials and markings aren't coated with radium (radioactive - will glow no matter what) but Indiglow that keeps the light only for a while.Adjusting the time day and date is easy, once you figure out which way to turn the dials. Since it's a divers watch the knob is screwed down for extra waterproofing. You can turn the two-colored bezel in one direction, handy if you need a silent and discreet reminder for whatever.I've had mine for a month now. I absolutely love it. It's big, heavy, masculine, sportive and tough in a non shouting way, if you get my drift. It just is. It's something Steve Macquinn or Pierce Brosnan could have worn in their "tough men's" movies. It's solid, practical, can take hell or high water without stopping. Did I already say that I love it?
