Solidly made - good key action
By Divoneh
I bought this due to RSI type problems - burning, itching aches in hands and forearms. I also bought an Evoluent vertical mouse at the same time. I had been using a Microsoft ergonomic keyboard and MS optical trackball - I found the MS keyboard very hard and 'clicky' to type on.I write this review after 6 weeks of use. The RSI has definitely improved - but not dissapeared completely. I found the keyboard to take about 2 weeks to get used to. The keys have a very different layout and I found I kept triggering the Num Lock and Caps lock inadvertantly - the keyboard gives a loud beep whenever you do this! The key action is definitely much softer and more pleasant to use. The angle/height is easily adjusted and locks in place well. It's generally well made and feels very solid. For £25 this is an absolute bargain - give it a try it you have RSI problems - also consider the Evoluent vertical mouse - which takes a lot of getting used to but I think it is well worth the effort but rather expensive.Four stars - Excellet value aT ~£25 - loses a star for unusual placement of the Windows key and too-loud beeping - perhaps i am being too fussy - Give it a try if you get RSI.

Not sure I'll use it again unless the pain gets bad
By A. Wyatt
The keyboard is a solid well design product. I wish you could split it in half completely but that's no big thing to worry about. The main thing that did my head in with this keyboard is that awkward placement of some keys but you get used to it after a while. The rubbish thing is the size of the keyboard. My old keyboard is about 4 cm wider when the new keyboard is closed. When this keyboard is opened it is much wider than my old keyboard which is a standard keyboard. Please check the dimensions. One thing this keyboard is supposed to do is to bring the mouse hand closer but it fails at this.

Poor, compared to what this keyboard once was
By Tamar
This is the third Goldtouch keyboard I have purchased and I couldn't have had a higher opinion of the older version. It really was excellent. That has all changed now with an updated and cheapened design. The USB cable has been shortened to the point where I required an additional USB extension cable to plug it into my base unit which sits under my desk. The key layout has changed from the original design and there are now some strange placements. For example; to simultaneously hold down the ctrl+alt+delete keys (the normal windows login) will likely cause you to cross your arms as the delete key is now placed on the far left side of the keyboard. Duh! Programmers will not appreciate the \ placement at the top right hand corner of the keyboard. By far the worst problem is the actual quality of the keys and their associated switches. Countless times I have hit a key and nothing registered; in this regard it is the worse keyboard of any price I have ever used. This is no longer the quality keyboard once supplied by Goldtouch, what a shame.
