Good investment for a small business

Up until recently we've managed with individual scanners, however, after regularly pestering people to scan documents for me I decided to invest in the Epson GT-2500N. In order to set it up you have to download a client on each machine that's going to use the scanner. Once it is set up it is pretty straightforward. You load the document in the scanner, return to your PC, press scan on the shortcut, at this stage you can name your file and choose where to store it. You can also choose the quality up to 1200 (dpi) and the file type PDF, jpeg etc. Once the file scans it will send it to your chosen location. You can then retrieve the document from the scanner. I mention this as we thought it would save to a network drive and everyone would collect their files from there. However, this way it's tidier and ensures that no sensitive data is left in the shared folder. You could forget to pick it up from the scanner though! We've had no issues with it after using for 2 months. If this changes I'll edit my review all in all a reliable machine that does the job.

Well worth the money if buying for a business. It is sturdy, fast and reliable. The scans are of good quality and it can perform in duplex (although I prefer the software based duplex function as it is quicker). If purchasing for individual or small office use I would recommend the Epson 1500 scanner as it is cheaper and more portable.
