Stagg / Eastcoast Gibson SG copy

I was a bit sceptical of the quality that this very cheap guitar claims to have. On first opening the package I noticed it had nice looking kluson type tuning pegs and although very light in weight, it did appear to have a solid mahogany construction. I then noticed it had a set neck: again solid mahogany with a rosewood fingerboard. How could this be? on such a cheap guitar.I investigated further.The bridge was set quite low but could be lowered more. I decided to lower it to its lowest setting and gradually raise it until it was playable. At its lowest setting the strings were as near as possible touching the fretboard and would under no circumstance play...I strummed a chord and it rang out like a bell....!!!This thing is absolutely unbelievable. Super low action, Nice fast neck and really nice tone when played unplugged. The pickups aren't too bad either, however, I have just replaced them with a set of Gibson burstbuckers (costing way more than the guitar!!)I would recommend these guitars to anyone. I am no professional but I am sure these would stand up to a concert performance with no issues whatsoever.I think if Stagg were to put their prices up by another £500 they would gain a lot more respect from players. (Please don't!!! Then it will be my secret as to how superb these guitars are!! Me and the odd few thousand reading this review!!)
