First impressions and updates
By F. Odds
Few weather stations have managed to gain good reviews from all their purchasers. So far this one seems to be the exception. The set-up was very simple. The acid test -- are the outdoor and indoor temperature readings the same when the two units stand alongside each other -- was passed with flying colours. The radio-controlled time and date (from the German transmitter) was picked up within about 3 minutes: faster than other RC devices I own. I'll update this positive review in a few months after the unit has had some time to settle in, function in cold temperatures and (let's hope not!) go wrong.Meanwhile, please note the unit is supplied without any batteries. This is unusual for present-day small electronic devices, particularly since I paid £20 more for it than I would have done had I happened to order a few days later when Amazon changed to a much cheaper 'default' supplier.Update after just over a week... I remain highly impressed. The fact that this device displays both the time and the date on which each minimum or maximum temperature was reached is quite brilliant. The pressure change predictions of weather changes have been unexpectedly helpful. I live in Scotland, where 'change' is the norm for loval weather. The weather station gives me a better impression of what's coming up over the next few hours than the BBC moving map forecasts on line.

Fantastic Product, 8 years old and still going strong
By SCGH
I purchased this exact weather station in 2004 - and it is still going strong! The temperature readings are very, very reliable. We use it more for temperature readings than weather forecasting. In summer and winter we must look at it 10 times or more a day... always interesting seeing how cold it is outside early on a winter's morning, or how hot it is on a summer's evening. Its also very useful finding out the room temperature - and I can use the reading to justify turning up the central heating! The batteries last quite a while... more than 6 months I think.... maybe even up to a year. It doesn't seem like we change them often. But when the batteries do die, we quickly rush to change them... we have learnt to rely on this little gadget a lot. I would never be without out one now.I am planning on finally purchasing additional sensors, in order to find out how cold the children's bedrooms are, without having to go upstairs.
