good but expensive

A lovely expensive looking toaster. Takes 4 slices easily - same as our previous Tefal toaster which was much bigger. Very slimline and looks great in our black and white new kitchen. Very simple controls. You cannot use the 2 slots separately so if you are only having one slice, both sides heat up. Very even browning. Very understated and classy looking....no frills.(a great pity the Graef kettle doesn't match it in colour (a more bluey white) and for some reason comes with a 2-pin plug so I sent it back) I really wanted the set of both items. I have now ordered a Bosch kettle.....here's hoping !!!!!!

Expensive, lovely toast. 2 slots, can take 4 slices.

Sick of buying cheap toasters which didn't make actual toast, or burned the edges of the bread, I bit the bullet and shelled out a stupid amount for this lovely machine. It has 2 long slots, not 4 slots, which means you can make a sandwich from a large loaf or even sliced baguette, or 4 slices of conventional size. The toast is even, does a lovely golden brown on white bread, and has very finely calibrated notches on the control button. I've had this toaster for about 3 months now, we use it at least 4 times a day, and I'm hoping it will last for years and years.....It has a lovely, easy to use crumb tray, but the wire toasting grids inside are impossible to access, and are collecting debris. I can't believe I spent this much money on an online electrical purchase without even seeing it in action, but Which gave it a best buy award, and I took a punt. Very glad I did.......

Not cheap but it toasts well.

My old wide slot Tefal toaster simply became scruffy and didn't toast very evenly, so I wanted a replacement that was also had wide slots. So many toasters these days have narrow slots so slices of home made bread just don't fit. This toaster has slots that are 30mm wide, and they are quite deep too. For tall bread I just put the slices in sideways. Then you can only fit in 2 slices at a time but at least the whole slice is toasted. I find the bread toasts very evenly, provided it is thoroughly defrosted. A couple of times one side has been substantially darker than the other because it has not really defrosted completely. The toasters defrost feature is also useful, but I still tend to defrost in the microwave when in a hurry. Normally for wholemeal toast I set the dial to less than 3. Any more and you will have very black toast! I haven't tried the bun feature yet, so can't comment on that. This toaster is quite expensive compared to the average made in China toaster. Here is a tip: Take a look on Amazon.de. I saved £20 by buying on there, even after paying for delivery. Of course if it breaks down you have to pay to send it back to Amazon. Note, if you do buy from Amazon.de, then you get a toaster with a 2 pin European plug.I'm very happy with my purchase so far.
