A pleasure to use for letters

I purchased the Brother A425 Typewriter as I wanted to be able to write letters without the need for complicated computers, printers etc. I haven't used a typewriter for many years and it is wonderful coming back to one after so long. Makes me wonder why on earth I ever moved away from one. I admit, a computer is brilliant for longer documents where editing is needed, but for writing personal letters this Brother typewriter is perfect for my needs. Very dissappointed

Very dissappointed with this product, I needed a replacement for an old Sharp electronic typewriter for my small business.This machine does not have a memory to save the normal settings i.e. Font size, margins, tabs etc. etc.When you power off the machine after using it and power it back on again you have to reset all of the above, what a waste of time!!I contacted the Brother technical helpline (Premium rate)with regard to this and after two tries and promises to phone me back I was eventually told that there is no memory to save the settings to.I returned my Brother typewriter to my supplier for credit.

The type writer is a great little tool that is useful without having to use a computer. My wife has found it to be very simple to use.
