Product Description
Handcrafted from seasoned Beechwood and designed for water colour, pastel or oil painting. This model tilts forward for glare reduction for painting and tilts backward to form a table for water colours or to apply Gesso/varnish. The easel has a fully adjustable painting tray and folds flat for easy storage. The Hamilton can accommodate a maximum canvas height of 138 cm (52"). Excellent easel

Excellent all-round easel. Probably takes the largest canvas size for this type of easel. Great for deep canvases up to 3" profile. Easel is very comfortable to use sitting on an average height chair.Worth noting the following points:1. You have to turn the upper centre slide upside down to accommodate small pictures.2. The front leg brace gets in the way of shins, so I moved mine up a bit with a touch of DIY.3. The left and right steady handles are plastic, so may not last very long, but no problem if replaced later on with metal wingnuts.4. The lower picture rest is very deep, 3", so makes painting of lower edges rather cramped. However, I solved this by raising my picture with a strip of plywood 1cm deep by 5cm high by 24" long. People wishing to paint with the easel horizontal may find this deep rest a nuisance, so I suggest painting with the easel back to front.5. The easel is not exactly wobble free, but can withstand vigorous brush scrubbing oil techniques. Fixing a board across the leg braces would help if you simply must bash it about.6. A 24" wide backing sheet of thin MDF or hardboard provides a good support for smaller works.Other than that, I'm very happily expecting to be using this easel for the rest of my life...YAY!

I am very pleased with this easel. It is very versatile and easily adjustable, so you can have your paintings vertical or flat or any angle in between. It is also very sturdy without being too heavy. It is very well made and looks like it should have cost a great deal more. It arrived well packaged within a couple of days and no self assembly was needed apart from putting on 2 handles. A quality item at an excellent price. Superb!
