5The Bulldog Of Shredders
By D. Brothwood
Every shredder I have ever used in the past I have always had to operate with one finger poised over its reverse button in readiness for when it would start to struggle and jam, this is not the case here, so far this unit has taken all the paper I could find and shredded it into minute pieces really quietly, which can be important if its intended use is in a shared office environment, I have worked in offices where a quick look around to see if anyone was on the telephone was always the norm prior to shredding, and usually as soon as the shredder started up a telephone would ring. The main consideration for purchasing a shredder is obviously security of waste confidential information, the manufacturers claim the unit is able to shred an A4 sheet of paper into well over 3000 pieces all smaller than a staple, I haven't actually counted the pieces to verify this, but I can say looking into its bin it certainly shreds into lots and lots of tiny pieces. The other consideration is reliability, if you are purchasing something this important you want to know your investment will last, this unit comes with a two year guarantee, the build quality of the unit is really good, it's a sturdy piece of equipment that looks like it would easily stand up to day to day office and multiple operator use. Most shredders suffer from a common problem when they are used in a shared office, they are usually full when you want to use them, the pull out bin is really large, and its an easy job to empty, it also has castors so if you needed to move it around it would be quite easy. There is a built in sensor that monitors the entry areas and cuts out the shredder if it senses fingers touching the metalwork of the openings, there is also an over temperature sensor fitted if you do get too carried away shredding.I have not sacrificed my credit card or any of my cd's to the shredder as part of this review but I have no doubt it could handle them easily, I also have no doubt about the Fellowes trade mark "Fellowes The World's Toughest Shredders".

1Durability?
By Parkerman
As with the previous reviewers, I was initially impressed with this shredder. Unfortunately our shredder started to develop little faults - the castors would fall off, the bin would get stuck, it would jam when shredding less than the prescribed number of sheets.I can assure you we did not ask our shredder to do more than we were told it was capable of but after two years it packed up altogether - for the price we paid it ended up as extremely poor value for money.

5So quiet, but so powerful
By Graham
My shredder gave up the ghost a few weeks back and I had to buy a replacement. This is it. Its smaller then my previous Fellows model but it shreds the papers (up to 17 pages) into small slithers and it is mega quiet so no need to do it when the phones are going or needing to shout over it. I have used it now for a few weeks and unlike the earlier models it os yet to overheat and stop, Seems like Fellowes have really got a winner here.
