5Best bit of baby kit I've bought
By becslew
I spent hours researching travel cots, including going to shops to test how easily they errect, this included the phil and teds travel cot and the traditional travel cots. Here's my thoughts to help save others the time!We bought the large blue NScessity travel tent because:- it was the easiest to assemble (it pops up in a second)- it is quick/easy to pack away (watch the demo on the NScessity website first)- it is very light and we take it on flights, also easy for train/car- our baby loves it because no matter where we have taken him, the inside is familiar to him, he feels safe and secure, he first slept through the night in his tent at 9 weeks!- it gives us flexibility to go on holiday or to friends for dinner or lunch without disturbing our baby's routine or environment, because when he's inside he can't see that he's not in his own room- a normal fitted cot sheet fits on the self inflating mattress. Put the mattress inside the tent with the soft covering on top of it, then the bed sheet, rather than slotting the mattress into the bottom flap of the tent- it is suitable from birth, and can be used with child up to 4 years so excelent value for money- we can use it inside, or outside at the beach or park with benefit of UV protection- in the summer months when his room is bright at 7pm, even with a black out blind, we have slept him in his tent at home because it is darker and no mossies can get at him.All in all, I don't normally write reviews, but as this is the best baby kit we've bought, felt I had to spread the word, we can't recommend it enough!NScessity Small UV Travel Centre (Blue)

5want a travel cot......look no further
By C. Reichl
We researched travel cots before buying the NScessity model and it has not let us down. It is great value for money, spacious, well made and most imporatantly easy to put up and put down. It also has a very useful self-inflating mattress that comes as standard. Our friends have a Nomad travel cot and we did a 'test drive' with it before buying anything. It was obviously well made but a real fiddle to put up - just like a mini tent with these telescopic poles to insert. Nightmare! The best thing about the NScessity is that once taken out of it's bag it just pings into shape. No hassle erecting anything. And putting it down isn't difficult once you get the hang of it. It's lightweight too with a handy shoulder bag to carry it in.All in all a brilliant buy for anyone wanting a good quality, robust travel cot. 5 stars.

Very compact and easy to transport especially compared to traditional style travel cots. Good size, plenty of room for our 3 month old and looks like will last for some time. Easy to set up (no poles) but watch out when you first open it! No problems folding up. The self inflating mattress provided adequate cushioning although we used additional bedding as well.On the down side we didn't want the opening completely closed as were using it indoors so there was no need and wanted to be able to see / access the baby easily. However, the zip starts at the bottom so the only way to leave it partially open is to have a gap at the bottom through which the child can (and partially did) roll out. For our purposes the design could be improved by having a multi-way or top opening zip. But for this it suited our purpose very well and are overall pleased with the purchase.
