Product Description

Faber-Castell is one of the world's largest manufacturers of art supplies. Founded in 1761 at Stein near Nuremberg by cabinet maker Kaspar Faber (1730–84), the enterprise has remained in the Faber family for eight generations. Faber-Castell are renowned for producing high-quality art products, with their ranges of pencils (Polychromos, Albrecht Durer and Pitt Pastel) and Pitt Artist Pens (used by Manga artists the world over) being particularly well known.

Faber-Castell has brought together all of the advantages of drawing in Indian ink in a modern pen - the PITT Artist Pen. The high-quality brush point works both straight and bent. The light colours are transparent, and thus well-suited to varnishing techniques, while the dark colours have excellent covering qualities. PITT artist pens have high-quality pigments of unequalled brilliance, with unsurpassed light-fastness. The quality brush point provides maximum flexibility for spontaneous freehand sketches or accurate detail (the PITT Artist Pen is also ideal for mixed media work e.g. combined with Albrecht Durer pencils), with a reliable and even flow of ink meaning that the point glides softly and smoothly over the paper. The PITT Artist Pens are ideal for graphic artists, designers, illustrators and architects. They are especially suitable for drawings and plans, lettering, layout work and many similar uses. The individual colours are marked with an asterisk-based code.

5Not enough info
By Yoko
I think the product info should mention the list of the colours especially since they have individual codes. I give the product 5 stars because these are probably the best pens I have ever touched but the info available is sorely incomplete! These are the 48 colors available in the box:102 Cream103 Ivory104 Light Yellow Glaze107 Cadmium Yellow109 Dark Chrome Yellow110 Phthalo Blue112 Leaf Green113 Orange Glaze118 Scarlet Red120 Ultramarine125 Middle Purple Pink126 Permanent Carmine127 Pink Carmine129 Pink Madder Lake131 Medium Flesh132 Light Flesh133 Magenta134 Crimson136 Purple Violet146 Smalt Blue153 Cobalt Turquoise154 Light Cobalt Turquoise156 Cobalt Green160 Manganese Violet162 Light Phthalo Green167 Permanent Green Olive169 Caput Mortuum170 May Green171 Light Green174 Chrome Green Opaque175 Dark Sepia177 Walnut Brown180 Raw Umber184 Dark Naples Ochre186 Terracotta188 Sanguine189 Cinnamon192 Indian Red199 Black232 Cold Gray III233 Cold Gray IV235 Cold Gray VI247 Indianthrene Blue264 Dark Phthalo Green268 Green Gold272 Warm Gray III273 Warm Gray IV274 Warm Gray VAs the price hints, these are not children pens... but what a joy for a spoiled adult!

5great buy
By monalisa
This set is very professional with a wide range of colours, i just love them. They are smooth, clog free and glide across the paper. The tips continue to keep there shape and you can draw fine line or fill large areas. all in all a great set of ink pens.

5Amazing and worth every penny!
By Ms. D. A. L. Wilkinson
I did deliberate a while before committing to buying these pens - afterall, if you said to someone you'd just paid that much money for a box of colouring (artists!) pens, they'd ask you if you were medicated or a professional artist and as I am neither it would leave them questioning my sanity. HOWEVER.... I love these pens, I keep my children away from them because I'm afraid no matter how much I love the little darlings, my pens would not come back in the way that I left them. The nibs are not so much fragile but they are certainly delicate - an adult tends to bear this mind when the money has come out of their pocket. There's a great range of colours and if I could've afforded it I would have got the 72 pack (presumably there is one as that's usually the case). The box keeps them in safe keeping and the lid thread holder is very handy. Great pens, great quality.
