Washburn Rover TBL Travel Accoustic Guitar

Having looked at the reviews on this product I took a while to decide whether or not to purchase. I have a small shallow draft cruiser and do a lot of cruising in company. We BBQ on board our boats, drink copious amounts of wine and some of us sing and play folk songs! I have no wish to take an expensive accoustic guitar in a lovely hard case on a small boat. Apart from the bulk a small cruising boat is a very wet boat for much of the time!I bought the guitar and am delighted with it. It comes in a well constructed, sturdy case and the guitar itself is very well built. The guitar and case together weigh very little. In terms of size the case is not a lot larger than a violin case.The guitar doesn't sound like a Martin or a Gibson but it is quite loud and fine for what I want it for. The action is OK but it is quite difficult to maintain the instrument in a playing position because it has a very small body and a full length neck. The machine head tends to end up vertically below the chin!! I put a fixing for the strap on the back of the neck close to where it joins the body and stuck some valcro on the underside of the body where it rests on the knee. This helped and I am sure that I will become used to playing the instrument in time. The guitar stays in tune.It is a difficult item to rate. One can't compare it with a normal size accoustic guitar costing about the same and it is not possible to compare it with a similar product. In it's way it is unique. It is exactly what I need to take sailing and for this reason I would give the guitar and case five stars.

Thrilled at value for money. Banjo sound at bridge and great guitar sound too. Holds tuning well. Great kit. Only downside is the fumes from finish. Strong and will take long time to clear. We leave it out of case in spare room as much as possible. Amazing value though. Way beyond what the same price would get with an ordinary guitar.

Handy little guitar just to pick up and play . Well put together , with its little case . Sound is unusual but not unpleasant .
