A pretty good figure, quite impressed.

I picked up this figure along with RoTF Leader Class Optimus Prime on Monday the 8th, but I'm not allowed to open either until my birthday on the 13th this saturday, :P but that's immaterial.I have the american/Hasbro version, and the only real difference i can see, (apart from the Takara version being in a black box, and the Hasbro version is in a clear plastic one, with his name and Decepticon symbol imprinted/molded on it, also has a carboard base, which is slightly wider than the box itself, which allows it to be used for displaying the figure MIB), is that the Takara version's colour strippes and decals are stickers, where as on the Hasbro version, they're painted on directly.I picked this figure up from a local Argos store (they only had two left in stock), and he was about £19.99, which is about £54 cheaper than what Amazon is asking, so if you're not prepared to pay £74 for him, check your local argos, they're bound to have one.In fact, now that I think about it, I'm wondering how much cheaper the other Masterpieces Amazon are selling are elsewhere, too bad Amazon seems to be the only one selling the others in the UK (that I can find.)Overall, I give it a 5 star, yes there are some articulation issues with the hips because of the tail fins bieng in the way, but they can be folded up behind the figure.And I've seen from youtube video reviews/tutorials that transformation can be a little challenging, but not too difficult.It comes with a display base that has Skywarp's name printed on it in chrome, on the Takara version, it's a decal sticker you have to apply), two removable Null-ray cannons that can attatch to his upper arms and wings in robot/jet mode respectively. It also comes with a minature (I think about 1cm tall) figure, which is not an Air Force Pilot, it's the scientist Dr Arkaville, who was briefly allied with the Decepticons in the G1 series. (this also comes with the other two Masterpiece Seekers, MP-07 Thundercracker and MP-03 Starscream. This fugure, and TC, use Starscream's mold, they're just repaints), but unlike the mini-figure that comes with Starscream, the ones that come with SW and TC are not painted in detail (they're just painted black), where as the one that comes with Starscream is with more detail.The figure also comes with a small clip that attatches under the cockpit in jet mode (Which is a *roughly* 1/60 scale F-15 Eagle), this allows the jet to carry the minature version of Megatron's gun form that comes with the three Masterpiece Primes and Masterpiece Ultra Magnus(MP-01 Prime (comes with cardboard trailer), MP-04 with real trailer, MP-01b Prime (black repaint of MP-01), and MP-02 Ultra Magnus (same mold as MP-01/MP-04 Prime, just painted white.)Overall, I'm very impressed with the figure, but not Amazon's asking price, you can find it cheaper in local Argos stores, it's listed on Argos' website, if you can't find it on the shelves, ask a cashier to search their stock lists.

SKYWARP!

Woo! Check this out! I'm not a big fan of Starscream, so I plumped for the more appealing black and purple of Skywarp (easily my favourite of the three original seekers - mostly just down to the awesome colour scheme!). I absolutely love this figure, although it is a little fiddly to transform. The detail, as with the other Masterpiece figures (and the Binaltech/Alternator/Kiss Players), is superb. You get a bunch of stickers to dress the figure like his G1 counterpart (although I left well alone as I'm rubbish with decals), and a wee Dr Arkeville figure (from the G1 cartoon). I absolutely love this figure (not in a rude way), although it would have been nice to have a bit of Die Cast worked in.Recommended!

I own and love the masterpiece 03 Starscream, if this has been reproduced and repainted exactly, it should be an excellent addition to any collection. Just like masterpiece 02 of Ultra magus was an excellent repaint of masterpiece 01 Optimus Prime. If this figure itself is a copy it should be kept as a collective piece not for being played with as the figure has a lot of small and rather fragile parts especially when trying to transform from figure to jet or back. It can be a little tricky to attach the clear plastic stand for it to seem to hover and also to be able to reverse the face plate to reveal an alternate facial expression. Other than those few minor problems the figure is overall very impressive especially when it jet mode as it comes with a removable passenger, moveable wings and other hidden compartments, as the proper jets have. The colour scheme resembles that of the original character and show with small alterations to how the modern jet colour schemes look.
