Ideal for Bikers!
By livrox
I bought this tent as a replacement for a Khyam Biker that had been all over Europe on the back of a Triumph and had seen better days. It was a good price and although I'd never had a Coleman tent before I thought I would give it a go. I have been very impressed with my spur of the moment purchase and highly recommend it. It packs up very small - a major consideration when travelling by bike - and although slightly less roomy inside than the Khyam has a much better build quality. As I camp out all year round my kit tends to have quite a hard life but this tent is really up to the job. It's highly waterproof (no leaks so far), extremely sturdy and has withstood 60 miles per hour winds (the joy of winter bike rallies!). It was also very cosy in the snow. The only niggle is that the porch groundsheet does get very wet in the rain as there's quite a gap around the bottom of the porch, but as the groundsheet zips off it's easy to just tip the water out again. The reflective strip round the doors is very handy when trying to find your tent in a pitch black field in the middle of nowhere on the way back from the pub. All in all, a great little tent that should give many years of use.

Make it a bit longer, pls...

I've just tried my new Phad X3 in approx +5 C, on wet ground (snow around), mist/drizzle from the heavens and can share the following:PROs - really easy to set up, even the first time. Looks good. Light to carry. Little if no condensation inside in cold weather. No water leaks even though the tent was set up practically in a puddle. Excellent finishing. Small but pleasant touches - vent holder velcro flaps; reflective lining of entrances (it really helps when dark and wet! at least my tent stands out from the rest of the bunch). The tent material looks sturdy and reliable - especially the poles from dur-aluminum; the rainfly material feels 'rubbery' and gives me the confidence it could withstand the long and pouring rain we sometimes get here in the Baltics. And yes, last not but the least - two guys who really know something about tents were totally amazed for the price/quality ratio, so Amazon, expect some more customers for this tent.CONs: I understand all tents are now made in the continent where people are genetically born smaller (no offense!), but really - could Coleman or any other manufacturer come across the brilliant idea to produce a tent that is some 10-20 cms longer so that you don't feel trapped in the tent??? Although the Phad X3 is standard lenght, still it feels not long enough and for this reason I subtracted 1 star. Also, I understand that 5000mm water resistance for the tent floor is excellent, but I didn't have the guts to put the silky nylon tent floor on the ground without a protective sheet underneath.Despite the cons, I definitely recommend this tent.

Coleman phad x3 tent
By cj
Fantastic tent for the money, i have done quite a bit of camping and have every tent ranging from one man - three man tents.I dont think you can beat this for price. It has a good water proof rating which is always the first thing i look for in a tent and the design has been thought about. The ground sheet zips out which enables you to use it as a picnic ground sheet if the weather is good to sit out side, you can remove it if its wet or dirty. It is slightly on the heavy side if you like ultra light weight camping but it makes an ace spacious 2 man tent.
