Nikon AF-S 18-135mm zoom

This lens is light, compact, easy to handle and great value for money. 135mm telephoto (35mm equiv 200mm) is about the limit for handheld shots without VR, but as long as you have variable ISO it's fine in anything but very poor light. Very clear, crisp definition throughout the whole zoom range, and you can override the auto focus manually. To go better than this you would need to buy the 18-200mm VR zoom, which is 3x the price!

Nikon AF-S 18-135mm Wide Angle Lens

Excellent value product. Purchased to replace the standard lens on the Nikon D40X, perfect for the beginner-novice photographer. Only problem is no shipping to Ireland! Had to ship to Belfast and collect and even that took almost 4 weeks!! All in all, happy with the product.

Nikon 18-135 DX Zoom

What a cracking lens this is. I needed a 'walk around' single lens instead of lugging all my kit and after veiwing a number of online reviews and pictures taken with this lens, I decided this was the one to go for.Nikon seems to have designed this lens to give maximum sharpness at the expense of some chromatic aberration. As I have a D-300 which compensates for this, it's not a problem. And sharp it is! I'm amazed how a wide range zoom can produce such good images, even at full aperture.I have some decent lenses: the 55mm f1.8, 35mm f2, 12/24mm f4, 18-55mm VR, 55-200mm VR and a few classics. I can say this 18-135mm is right up there with the very best.I do so wish it had VR though...
