Do not underestimate the size of this ironing board!

Honestly, it's HUGE! I wanted a nice big board to make ironing sheets etc a breeze which it does brilliantly. the shape of the end is also really good for shirts but it's so wide that I can't fit any of my tops over the end to iron just one side without them getting stretched out of shape which is a real pain.

The King of Ironing Boards

If you've got this far - chances are you're thinking "is it worth the money" so here's a few thoughts i've had about mine after owning it for a few months.1) it's big. but - having 3 small children it's great for doing clothes all in one go without re-positioning. It'll do grown-up trousers in one go too, and a kingsize duvet cover folded in half2) it's expensive. But really well built (as brabantia stuff tends to be) and will last for ages. I have got through too many £30 ironing boards from DIY sheds and the mechanism breaks after a couple of months. This will easily outlast 3 cheap ironing boards. it's sturdy, doesn't flex or wobble and isn't too heavy either. it clips together closed (so doesn't flap about when stored) and is put up by leaning it over and flcking the catch off. couldn't be simpler.3) i have a steam generator iron - so got this one with a shelf on the end for it to stand on. i didn't like the idea of giving ironing board space up for the steam unit to sit. it's out the way and sturdy and can't fall off.The bad points? Well, like another reviewer i got the 'feathers' cover. Doesn't bother me but the pattern on it through a shirt or duvet cover looks like it's rucked up underneath, so it can be annoying once in a while, but i'm being really picky.It's made of mesh with a cloth cover so the steam passes straight through. Briliant - but if you're ironing a lot, you can get a puddle on the floor where the steam condenses and water forms on the floor. Not a fault with the board - that's what it's supposed to do, but might be worth bearing in mind if you're ironing on carpet or lainate floor that can't get wet.On the whole - the best ironing board i've ever owned. If you're going to be doing lots of ironing - make it as simple as possible and get one of these.
