Excellent unit but read this if yours doesn't work

I'm fairly new to DMX though a veteran of other electrical and IT skirmishes. I have spent a frustrating day trying to get one of these to work under software control via a Velleman interface. Unit reacted to DMX control but behaved in a bizzare way.A websearch finally revealed that this is one of quite a lot of DMX units in which the + and - data lines are reversed against the DMX standard. Easily dealt with once you know - make up an adaptor lead or, if confident and unit out of guarantee, reverse the pin 2 and pin 3 connctions to the PCB. Now working well and seems to be excellent value for money. I've rated it as a 4 as the instruction sheet could usefully have mentioned this as a potential problem.
