Captive dolphins are not toys.
By Catinlondon
I am truly disappointed to see that Playmobil is promoting dolphin captivity. Children should be taught to respect animals, not to see them as toys. The life of a captive dolphin is a slow torture after horrendous capture conditions (read about Taiji in Japan) or artificial insemination, with no freedom to swim (in the wild they swim up to 100km a day), being made to eat dead fish in exchange for tricks, loud noises, chlorinated water etc. I am really sad, because Playmobil toys have always been one of my favorites, they leave a lot of room for imagination, are well built etc. But this range is certainly not getting my vote.

Save Misty the Dolphin
By misty
This is so sad to produce a toy that will teach children that it's fun to capture wild mammals (in a horrific way, while they see other family members killed in front of them) to subject them to a life of misery and slavery. This practice is barbaric and is NOT OK to promote in this way. Please do not buy. See "Save Misty the Dolphin" on Facebook, please. Get educated on this issue and I think you'll look at this industry differently. Thank you.
