Does as advertised

I've got no complaints - this does what you expect it to. It removes feedback by cutting frequencies out of the output (in 1/60th intervals).The auto detection mode DOES work but it is a little slow. I recommend buying some ear muffs if you are going to use the auto detection. You will be deafened otherwise. With our setup, it usually takes about 2 minutes to get it nicely setup. I gradually feed in more input and let the unit take its time detecting the feedback as it occurs. There is an even more automated mode which generates tones but I found this to be less reliable than my technique.The sound quality doesn't suffer too much because the chunks it cuts out are very small.Don't expect miracles - we were able to bump up our volume by around 30% with this. Not a huge gain, but useful nonetheless. The limiting factor for us was that all 20 filters were filled! Presumably that means we are filtering out a third of the signal? Crazy.Anyway, from what I've read, this appears to be the best unit in this price range. There is plenty of info on the web if you need to do some research before buying.

Does the Job

Having been in a cover band for 6 years we have had our share of venues where the PA just wont behave due to room conditions. The FBQ2496 is almost set it and forget and deals effectively with microphone bourne feedback. Since buying the FBQ we hgave had much more volume headroom to play with and few incidents of feedback. Its no substitute for high end gear, but in a system designed for portability it works wonders....
