Best way to support those HEAVY lenes

Bought this after going for a 600mm Canon prime lens. Only when you get one of these lenses onto your usual tripod do you realise just how bad a design a monoball is with this amount of weight.Once you mount the lens and camera on this head it feels as light as a feather...well almost. I like the feature of the safety lock so when you undo the locking cam the lens and camera cannot go earth bound at a tremedious and worrying speed.I have no hesitation at reccomending this product and look forward to producting some stunning work.

I bought the 393 gimbal head from a third party, but I will share my experience with Amazon users.This is a low cost equivalent of some very expensive other makes. At the same time it works well. The picture and description shows this as a monopod head, technically this is daft. I use it on a tripod (Manfrotto 475B also on Amazon). I use it with a 700mm lens and a heavy dSLR for wildlife photography. Once this combination of camera and lens are mounted in the gimbal head, they can be moved with one finger. It is not necessary to tighten up the movements (as with a ball head); if I aim the camera in any direction it stays there without moving. I can do some panning for moving subjects.The picture shows the support bracket above with camera hanging from it. It works just as well with the support bracket in the low position, supporting the camera. It is also much easier to set up a heavy lens and camera in this position.The gimbal head is unsuitable for trekking because it is used heavy photo kit and a sturdy tripod. Go there by car rather than public transport.

Supersonic delivery well inside forecast. Works better than advertised and is a very economical alternative to more well known "gimballing" camera mounts. Recommend both the kit and the supplier to anyone. Get this kit now, it's exactly what you need! Have a look at some web sites at alternative modes of use i.e with both brackets in the lower configuration. Using it the way it is usually pictured is silly.
