5Outstanding clarity
By K. Jamison
I bought this because it looked better than the standard 19" monitor. I wasn't disappointed. I also run a KVM and switch effortlessly between two PC systems. There is good contrast and the brightness can be adjusted so it's not too harsh. I can literally sit in front of it for hours at a time editing video. I don't play games on it so I can't help you there. Movies look fantastic, DVDs and TV broadcasts are great. I've seen this sold more expensively elsewhere - this is a great price for a widescreen monitor.Points to Note: Your video card needs to support 1440x900 (either natively or by customising the resolution via your video card control panel). Don't take web advice on downloading an Acer driver to fix the 1440x900 resolution, just buy a better video card for about 40 pounds to get the most from this screen. I have an NVIDIA GeForce4 MX4000 (native 1440x900) in one system and an FX5500 (custom 1440x900) in the other.Warm up time is quite fast from cold. There's an Acer logo first and a couple of seconds pause before your screen appears. The widescreen factor is a big plus for me as I edit a lot of video and I can arrange all of the windows and timelines across the screen. On my old 4:3 monitor, I could never get them all on the screen at the same time...

519" Bargain
By May-Miller
Have had this monitor for around 8-9 months now. I paid £174.00 for it. I have no complaints about my monitor whatsoever. The picture is great, response time seems fine for gaming (have played counterstrike, JK2 & AOE3 on it) colours are well saturated and seem accurate, brightness is not much of an issue although some claim it is. I have mine set to 45/100 most of the time, though sometimes turn it down lower at night. The physical quality of the product is good, with a tidy little button area, the power button is a bit plasticy but have had no problems with it. My only issues with monitor are (a) no DVI input and (b) no height adjustment. At the time I bought the screen, i also purchased this Kensington flatpanel arm-mount: http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0006SIV52/ref=pd_ys_iyr7/026-4719814-5193224 which i have found is brilliant, especially for the price. It saves masses of space, and gives good height adjustment. So, I'd recommend buying this monitor, but also considering (1) do you need DVI? Planning to run dual-screen sometime? Upgrading your PC sometime to a grafix card with only DVI outputs? (2) How low is your desk? How high is your chair? How tall are you? The built in stand only raises the monitor around 12cm off the desk.Overall though, for the value, 5 stars!!

5Great Monitor, Excellent Value!
By Rory Marshall
I've had this monitor now for a few weeks, it was recommended to me by a friend who impressed me with theirsOverall, this is a fantastic monitor, although it is not DVI it is still very much worth buying. The resolution is good enough to watch HD 720P video, and the brightness, colour and contrast are brilliant. One issue I have come accross is the backlight leakage at the top and bottom; which can be a little annoying when watching dark movies or games such as Half Life 2/F.E.A.R. this is only minor though and the majority of users will have no problems, especially with the exceptionally good response time.Other than that, I would reccomend this product!
