Superb clarity, Radio 4 style without the fuss!

I own 3 different mics for Podcasting.You won't be disappointed in the CO3U Podcasting kit.Dead easy USB, runs direct from Vista drivers, with superb results - EVERYTIME.Using Audacity, free software to record podcasts, not Cakewalk which is shipped with the CO3U.The recordings are clean, clear and excellent quality.Faultless performance from this mic.Has a Cardioid(heart shaped frontal direction), Omni (all directions) and a figure of 8, so that it picks up you and the person you're facing for interviewing.You can move up to 18 inches from the mic and maintain clear recordings. Some mics limit your movement, this one doesn't.Slight plosives (p's and b's), so use a wind shield, or put some popsocks over the mic (don't' laugh, popsocks really work!). Especially when set to maximum sensitivity.Two points.1. Stand fittings are European (smaller) and American (larger). Undo the US fittings and the European fittings are underneath them. But they don't tell you that! So you'll spend 10 mins or so working out how the stand thing fits together, unless you know about the pre installed US screw mount.2. It comes preset with the recording level set to approx 3. This is very quiet.to change go to start/control panel/sound/recording/[select micrphone]/properties/levels [slide from 3 to 90]Now stand back. It will record airplanes flying overhead, dogs barking in the street, the whole lot, even gurgling in your radiators. Superb sensitivity. This way it picks up every nuance in your voice, every inflection.Good mic for female voices. Some mics are far too "bright" on female voices, this copes well, and has a Radio 4 daytime bright/clean professional feel. It handles a diverse range of vocal tones.So if you want Radio 4 clarity, with each inflection and nuance of speech caught with beautiful mid tones, you'll be dead happy. Also it's a dream for podcasters. Literally plug and play, with Vista. And lets face it, so little works with Vista, that's a huge bonus!

Really pleased with this set as the ali box and mouldings protect a very sturdy microphone. Was plug and play on my Vista 64 bit desktop and same on Vista a32 bit laptop. Used with Audicity and sounds really clear and nice with a little bass in there to give it a 'warmer' sound rather than the tinny noise on my headset mic. good quality stand and cage all in one pack, great length of usb cable.no problems at all. Bought a pop mic clip on as well afterwards and all together are a great package. Highly recommend.

Had this for over a month now, I use it for Karaoke (chinese ppl love singing~^^ )and sometimes for podcast (for a large BBS for foreign students in EUROPE)I was suprised with the case and weight at the first plc, look like something worth the money ~ about the mic, much clearer than the mic that i used to use (17.99 from argos), there are also very useful settings that you can choice on the mic such as getting the sounds just from the front and back of the mic.. or from all around (surround? )anyway, i am very happy with this product compare the money and quality. I have not found any disadvantage of the product so far, but when i do, ill come back and tell you all~Tommy ^^
