Battlelore...the beautiful game

This game is a simple war game, much like it's predecessors, Commands and Colours: Ancients, Memoir '44 and Battle Cry, but with a fantasy theme. An added twist is that you can collect lore and use it to magical effect.The game is beautifully produced with loads of fantastic miniatures. Where some games can get bogged down with a rule book that you have to wade through, Battlelore provides rule cards so that you have to hand only those that you need. The game is involving and elegant, while still being easy and (relatively) quick to play.My only one quibble is that some of the many miniature figures are so tightly packed that they can arrive bent. However, softened with boiling water or a hair dryer, they can easily be bent back into shape.All in all, an excellent game at an excellent price.
