Versatile, affordable, easy to use.
By DJ Dawes
Having used the BCD 3000 for nearly 3years now it is plain to see it has its good points and its short falls. As I love this product I aim to get its bad points out of the way first. 1) Microphone input is not up to the quality of the rest of the package and with the Behringer drivers it is impossible to run the Mic on its own seperate channel all of the time, so you have a choice, mix using the two channels or play from one channel and speak.2) Some of the decorative rings around the knobs can be pushed out of place if say for instance a mobile phone is dropped on one, you may think this is a strange comment but remember accidents do happen. 3) Fairly quickly (3-6 months moderate use) the jog wheels lose the original factory fresh smoothness, but having said that no functionality is lost. So that is it for the negative. I have been using Native instruments Traktor Pro with the controller for the past year and have found the controller to work extremely well with it and find this controller somewhat nicer to use than some of the 'newer breed' offerings on the market currently. Unlike other controllers on the market at this price this comes fully loaded with everything you need from a mixer. The controller layout is good and very akin to a traditional DJ mixer and this controller benefits massively from having an in-built usb sound-card allowing the standalone use of this and your chosen computer hardware with out the need for any other interfaces or sound-card. The abundance of LED lit buttons is also a benefit during DJ'ing situations when lighting may not be available or suitable and thus allows for important functions to be visibly on or off at a glance. Another feature very exclusive to the BCD at this price point is the ability to use it as a traditional 2 channel mixer using vinyl. The function is very natural and can be used by anyone with even limited mixing experience. As well as making the BCD useful with all your old vinyl the external mixing capability allows for exciting mixes between some classic tunes and recent digital media giving a proper twist on all your old and new favourites. All in all the BCD is fantastic value for money and is a really good tool for cutting your teeth in the world of digital mixing or even just adding to your arsenal of audio gear.Having tested some of the various DJing software on the market I would strongly recommend using Traktor Pro or Virtual DJ with this controller.

BCD3000 & BCD2000
By DJ Dave
If you are thinking about using this product with windows Vista, I suggest not to bother. I have a BCD3000 running Traktor Dj software. You will find that the software freezes and in the middle of a gig this IS NOT GOOD. Manufacturer does not want to know ( Behringer get your act together ), no feed back to emails. No upgrade availiable for either of the products or drivers, I have downgraded to window's xp and the software runs smoothly. A tip for anyone who is having these problems would be to turn off the wireless internet on the Pc/ laptop. This will stop it freezing, I will say that the hardware is worth buying and I have had no problems with it's quality. Have had it nearly 2 years, the mixer can be used to good effect as a standalone unit.Didn't think much of the mic input though, distorted. Since the downgrade I have used this product every weekend, no problems.

good product with minor drawbacks
By Jens Kuehnemann
i own this controller since 2 years.having sold my turntables i just wanted something to mix at home.the controller is perfect for thatpeople might critisize the built quality. it fees very plastic - no metal parts here.anyway it works perfect.plug it in and start using it. no driver necessary under os x.works perfect with traktor. the layout is nice and allows for modification / addition of features via modifier (i use the scratch buttons as digital scratching with jog wheel is not my type of thing anyway)the only thing that annoys me is that it doesnt shut off nicely.i connect it to my active monitors and these dont like the peak cheaper pieces of equipment generate when switching them off.i use a hammerfall dsp (soundcard) which does not do this.not enough to take a star of rating away.highly recommended.
