WOW
By gingerjogger
I've been running for 11 years (different distances)and wanted to step up to ultra distances so have been trying numerous hydration packs etc. When you first get it out of the box it does look very big, but then you realise the amount of engineering and thought that has gone into developing it.Plenty of room in side pockets for keys, energy bars/gels, etc. etc.I found that it didn't 'bounce' which surprised me, 'cos of size and weight, but due to the padding it held it snugly to the waist.I did find that it moved around my waist (to the left?!) which was a bit annoying and the belt sometimes needed re-tightening, but considering that i have been using it on 3-4 hour runs thats not surprising. On the whole i think it's excellent, keeps your hands free and the best bit of kit i have found to do the job.

There are things to approve

In general it does its job. But two issues were found:1) The rear bag is not big enough to put easy my standard size wallet. I have to put the wallet in vertical position and after that I am able to close zip with effort. I would enlarge a bag in height for several santimeters.2) This is my first usage of bottles with such nozzle. In time of running water splashes out of bottles, despite I set a nozzle in down position. Sometimes it splashes one third of water for half hour of running. I am not sure if this is defect in bottles or nozzle construction in general can't guaranty that water will not get out when bottle is moved quickly with such amplitude. May be water pushes nozzle up and in such way allows water to get out. Just for comparison - I run also holding in the arm Camelbak Better Bottle(tm) .75L and water also splashes out but significantly less.Anyway I am not aware of other alternative for runners who have to take with him/her a big amount of water - besides hydration bags which are not attractive for me.

Good piece of kit
By Ruth Clay
I've been using the Nathan elite 2V for around 2 months now. I'm running for around 2 hours and only need to take one of the bottles. I got the waistpack which could take 2 bottles as I'm a ski instructor and want to use it when I ski. Having the bottle on a tilt makes it very easy to remove and replace. The padding is great and there is plenty of room for snacks, keys and a phone. Although I have found that the iPhone only just fits and if you put it in one of the pockets then it will be switched off due to the tight fit which is annoying as I use the Nike app which needs the phone to stay on. I love having detachable pockets.I'm a 'pear' shape (not yet made it to athletic shape although I'm working on it) and I find that I have to have the pack tightish on the smallest part of my waist. It will not sit on my hips without riding up. It's still comfortable but some may find it constricts their breathing. The bottles don't get in the way despite being higher up.The bottles are my only complaint. Both have broken. There is an engineering fault which means that there is a weak point where the spout attaches to the rest of the lid. The first one snapped when I was washing it up and the other when I reached back to get the bottle on the run and found it came off in my hand. I've now got a different make of bottle which fit just fine.In summary the waistpack is great but the bottles are naff.
