brilliant all day jacket

Tested this out in late october in lake district. Even after two hours climbing the inside was bone dry. This jacket is far more breathable than anything else i've tried , including gore-tex paclite which is like a bin liner by comparison . Its the first time in many years of hillwalking that I havent spent half the day putting on or taking off layers ! Its quite heavy and warm, so its best worn all day and not used as a shell to put on when it rains. In temperatures about zero and a strong wind I was wearing this with a base layer and a thin fleece and was warm enough. To get the best out of Paramo you need to understand how it works, and it does need more care than gore-tex. Regular washing and re-proofing to keep it in tip-top condition. Its only downside is that it is probably too warm for summer use

It took me a long time to make the decision to try a paramo, the cost over "normal" gear made me spend many hours scouring the Web reading reviews. Having taken the plunge it is the best decision I have ever made supremely, comfortable, rustle free and 100% waterproof. No matter what the Gods decide to throw at you this is the jacket to shrug it off and keep you cosy. The versatility of it unbelievable, no matter what the level of activity I have yet to have any condensation problems, I made the purchase for hill walking but now find myself wearing it every day. Whatever you need a waterproof for serious outdoor pursuits or just commuting then don't hesitate, this is THE jacket. The only problem is I have now become a convert and am now trying to save for more of this wonderful gear a velez smock for lightweight use though I am sure it will also become every day wear and the some trousers, the list will go on.
